DESIGN

EXTERIORRange Rover Evoque has defined the compact SUV.Its design cues – striking lines, muscular shoulderand tapered roof – have become synonymous withstyle and contemporary city life. Now the vehicleis going even further. Available in SE Dynamic andHSE Dynamic models, new Range Rover EvoqueConvertible, the world’s first premium compactconvertible SUV, sets new standards in design,capability and sheer driving pleasure.

Optional adaptive full LED headlamps complementthe vehicle’s design cues by combining a distinctivelook with enhanced light output for better visibilityand safety at night. The headlamps’ adaptivefunction enable light beams to be automaticallyaligned with steering inputs and follow curves inthe road.

The Daytime Running Lights have a distinctivesignature, which also serve as the directionalindicator by flashing amber.

CONVERTIBLE ROOF

The vehicle utilises a fabric Z-Folding ConvertibleRoof System in Ebony. It is electrically operated,with opening and closing being easily controlledvia a switch mounted in the centre console;an action that can be completed whilst the vehicleis travelling up to 48kph.

The roof is available in Ebony, which complementsthe complete colour palette. The roof has anacoustic inner lining to reduce road noise andalso to provide insulation to the cabin.

The tailgate has been developed to allow easyaccess to the loadspace. The loadspace capacityremains unchanged regardless of the roof positionand is able to accommodate a standard golf bag,or a baby buggy.

INTERIOR

A range of individual features provideadded appeal to the clean, architecturalshapes of the vehicle’s interior. The frontseats incorporate the latest technologiessuch as climate control options, heatedand cooled seats, to ensure a truly relaxedand comfortable ride. Whilst the use ofpremium materials such as optional Oxfordleather and twin-needle stitching ensure a

comfortable journey for all four passengers.

The standard InControl Touch Proinfotainment system allows music tobe heard and felt the way it should. Brighttrebles. Deep bass notes. Rich tones thatlet every instrument sing. These are thecharacteristics of the Meridian™ SoundSystem. Added to which, the vehicle’s 10.2

inch Touch-screen has phone connectivityfor two phones simultaneously and allowsaccess to the vehicle’s Bluetooth® streaming.

When the roof is down, an optionalwind deflector system will add to frontseat comfort by reducing draughts fromthe rear of the cabin. The wind deflectoris easily stored and can therefore bereadily deployed.

An optional Ski Hatch allows throughloading of skis and other long loads fromthe loadspace into the passenger cabin.This feature also includes a centre armrestwith cup holders.

Land Rover has always been synonymouswith capability and Range Rover EvoqueConvertible lives up to even the mostdemanding expectations. Confident andresponsive, the drive is further enhancedby a generous wheel articulation andinnovative off-road technologies such asTerrain Response, which is standard.

This feature adapts to the responses of the

vehicle’s engine, transmission, differentialsand chassis systems to maximise driveability,comfort and traction. There are four TerrainResponse settings: General Driving, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud & Ruts and Sand. So, thevehicle feels sure-footed no matter what theterrain or weather conditions.

ALL-TERRAINPROGRESS

CONTROL

All-Terrain Progress Control is an optional state-of-the-art new system that enables drivers to set andmaintain a steady speed in challenging conditions.Operating like a cruise control system, it functionsat very low speeds between 1.8km/h and 30km/h,helping the driver to maintain full concentration onsteering and finding a path through obstacles.

The system is enhanced by a dedicated Launch

feature, which enables the vehicle to pull awaysmoothly and easily, even on tricky low-frictionsurfaces like ice, sand or wet grass. Developed byLand Rover’s industry-leading all-terrain specialists,the system requires no additional hardware orsensors, and works seamlessly alongside thestandard Terrain Response and four-wheel drivetraction and braking systems. Once All-TerrainProgress Control is activated, the standard steeringwheel +/- cruise control buttons are used to setthe speed. Brake and accelerator pedals can stilloverride the chosen settings, with gentle brakingachieving a reduction in speed.

WADE SENSINGThis optional feature operates when the vehicle isgoing through water. Sensors in the door mirrorsprovide real-time information of water depth whichis presented on the Touch-screen along with thevehicle’s maximum wading capability of 500mm.

HILL DESCENT

CONTROL

Land Rover’s patented Hill Descent Control(HDC) is a standard feature that assists the driverwith controlled descents of difficult slopes bymaintaining a constant speed and applying brakingseparately to each wheel.

Hill Start Assist ensures the vehicle doesn’t rollbackwards as it pulls away on an incline.

The vehicle also utilises Gradient Release Control(GRC) which is designed to prevent the vehicleaccelerating too quickly on a steep incline whenthe driver inadvertently releases the brake.

Head Up Display is a technology option that presents key vehicle data such as current speed,gear position and navigation directions on the windscreen, without distraction or the needfor the driver to take their eyes off the road. In a world first, the Land Rover system featureslaser holographic techniques, resulting in superior colour saturation, brightness and contrast.

This innovative laser system is more robust against issues such as ‘washout’ – the effect thatthe glare from sunlight has on inferior LED-based systems. The display can be turned on andoff dependent upon driver preference.

NINE-SPEED AUTOMATIC

The Range Rover Evoque Convertible’s

nine-speed automatic transmission is oneof the most efficient and technicallyadvanced transmissions ever used in aproduction vehicle.

Smaller ratio steps give improved responseduring acceleration, plus improved shiftquality, drive and refinement. The highertop gear not only reduces fuel consumption

but the lower engine revs also improve

comfort and reduce noise when cruisingat a sustained speed. The nine-speedautomatic transmission is extremely robustand perfectly complements Land Rover’srugged all-terrain ability whilst deliveringexceptionally high levels of refinementand efficiency.

INGENIUM DIESEL ENGINE

The all-new Ingenium diesel enginedelivers a step change in both emissionsand economy.

The 2.0 litre four-cylinder Ingenium engineis available in two power outputs; 150PSand 180PS, and comes with four-wheeldrive as standard.

Land Rover engineers have paid particularattention to reducing weight while

maintaining excellent strength and highlevels of refinement.

An efficient solenoid common-rail systemfeeds fuel into the combustion chamberswhich provides precision injection with low

noise levels. Added to which internalfriction is reduced by up to 17 percentcompared with the previous generationturbodiesel engine, boosting efficiency,smoothness and responsiveness.

Not only is the new Ingenium enginesubstantially lighter, more fuel-efficient andmore refined than its predecessor, it is alsomore affordable and convenient to ownthanks to servicing intervals extended from

16,000 to 21,000 miles (or every two years,whichever comes first).

Si4 PETROL ENGINE

The Si4 petrol engine is a lightweight all-aluminium 2.0 litre 240PS engine with four-wheel drive as standard. It comes with thelatest direct-injection technology, advancedturbocharging and twin independentvariable valve timing to help lower fuelconsumption and CO2 emissions comparedwith traditional larger capacity enginesdelivering equivalent performances.

The engine delivers a rich, powerful engine

sound during strong acceleration andfeatures a unique exhaust manifold for

quicker warm-up and lower emissions,a low friction design and a state-of-the-artelectronic management system.

This includes Smart Regenerative Charging,which prioritises the charging of the batterywhen the vehicle is decelerating to capturewasted kinetic energy and reducefuel consumption.

BLIND SPOT MONITORINGBlind Spot Monitoring is packaged with Reverse TrafficDetection. Designed to see what might be missed, theseoptional systems have discrete sensors hidden in the side

and rear bumpers. When a vehicle enters a blind spot oneither side of the vehicle, Blind Spot Monitoring alerts thedriver via an icon displayed in the appropriate door mirror.If a vehicle approaches at speed from behind whenchanging lanes, the driver will be alerted by a flashingicon in the door mirror.

Activated whilst reversing, Reverse Traffic Detectionworks by informing the driver in the event of a vehicleapproaching from either side which may present a hazard,with both audible and visual warnings.

LANE KEEPING ASSISTOptional Lane Keeping Assist is packaged withAutonomous Emergency Braking and Driver ConditionMonitor. It uses the forward facing camera to detect lane

markings ahead of the vehicle. If it detects that it is gettingtoo close to either side of its lane, the system will counter-steer to keep the vehicle in lane. When the driver activatesthe turn signal to intentionally change lanes or turn, thefunction does not intervene.

Autonomous Emergency Braking will warn the driver whena collision with another car is imminent and deploy thebrakes to mitigate a collision if the driver doesn’t respondin time. This feature works up to 80kph.

Driver Condition Monitor helps detect the onset ofdrowsiness. If detected, a warning message is displayedto prompt the driver to take a break.

DEPLOYABLE ROLLOVER PROTECTIONDEVICE (RPD)In order to provide a high level of rollover protectionto vehicle occupants, whilst retaining a clean visual

appearance to the vehicle in normal use, deployablerollover protection devices are fitted behind the rearseats as standard. In the unlikely event of a detectedrollover situation, these devices will deploy.

PARK ASSIST

Park Assist consists of Parallel Park and Parking Exit. Usingsensors, this optional feature identifies parking spaces andhelps to parallel park in tight spots. The screen prompts

the driver to select reverse and then automatically steersthe vehicle into place. The driver stays in control usingthe brake and graphics in the instrument panel to guidethrough each manoeuvre.

Parking Exit provides the same assistance to manoeuvreout of the space.

Perpendicular Park is an optional addition to the system.Truly useful in car parks and tight spaces, it automaticallyassesses whether the chosen space is wide enough beforesteering the vehicle centrally into place.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

Optional Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is a radar basedcruise control system that helps maintain a pre-set gapfrom the vehicle in front, even if it changes speed.

Queue Assist uses ACC technology to follow the vehiclein front in traffic queues. It will bring the vehicle to a haltwhen necessary.

Intelligent Emergency Braking uses radar to detectvehicles travelling in the same direction. If the systemcalculates that a frontal collision is imminent, it can fullydeploy the brakes to mitigate a frontal collision. Thisfeature works up to 80kph.

TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION

Working in conjunction with the Navigation System, thisoptional feature scans the road ahead for certain trafficsigns and displays them in the Message Centre in the

instrument pack. The following signs are detected: speedlimit signs, no-overtaking signs, variable overhead speedsigns and traffic signs with extra information – such asreduced speeds for wet roads.

The system can be configured to provide speed alertwarnings when the vehicle is travelling at or abovethe current speed limit, as well as warning ofno-overtaking zones.
