11Our Core Values

SERVING THE KING: Means to fully surrender your life to Christ and live a life of obedience in the power of the Holy Spirit. 1 Peter 4:10 “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others. We are all servants of the King.” Ephesians 4:1 tells us to “Live a life worthy of the calling you’ve received from God”. Jesus’ entire ministry was to serve God and deliver people. We have the same mandate. We have a culture of ser-vant-hood in every area of ministry at RSM.

HONORING OTHERS:The word honor means valuable, precious, weight, such as gold. It means to esteem, appreciate and to hold in high regard. Honor is more than being nice, it’s a position in our hearts that we put others before ourselves. We have created such an envi-ronment for everyone on the RSM campus to operate in a culture that sustains life, hope and the destiny in the hearts of everyone around them. God set the example for us in that He honored His son Jesus and Jesus has honored us, giving us value even in our sinfulness. We should always follow in His example by dealing with your leaders, peers and yourself in an honorable way.

AWAKENING THE NATIONS:As Christians we are called to go into the entire world and make disciples. Tell all Nations: the Kingdom of God is here! Awakening means being woke up to what God is doing. There’s a stirring inside of us when we hear Him speak and our eyes are opened to see what He is doing. Awakening is an activation and being about the Father’s business.” Romans 13:11-13 “But make sure that you don’t get so absorbed and exhausted in taking care of all your day-by-day obligations that you lose track of the time and doze off, oblivious to God. The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing!

12Our Core Values

(continued)

RELEASING SONS & DAUGHTERS: RSM is about equipping and training an army of people to bring revival to the Na-tions. Our students will be fiery arrows in the hand of God, shot forth to release the Glory of God. Sons and Daughters for all nations will come to RSM to be equipped and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

PREPARING FOR EXCELLENCE: If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well. Paul says in Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.” (NLT) If we’re representing God, we should do things well for His glory. The pursuit of excellence is both a goal and a mark of spir-itual maturity. God expects us to work with excellence and with our full heart. At RSM you will see excellence and it will be expected from you.

ENCOUNTERING GOD’S GLORY:Glory is one of the most common words in scripture. The Hebrew word kabod (K-B-D) originally means weight or heaviness. The same word is then used to ex-press importance, honor, and majesty. The glory of God is the beauty that emanates from His character, from all that He is. Ultimately it’s the manifestation of God’s presence. This is our pursuit at RSM. We were created to glorify God and experience His glory. Moses was talking with God in Exodus when he asked to see His glory. We believe prayer is the doorway into the Glory of God – experiencing His pres-ence. We know that as we experience Him for all that He is, we will be changed to be like Him.

NETWORKING WITHIN THE KINGDOM:We are all part of the same body but with different gifts and different callings but we are the church. It’s not something we do; it’s who we are. At RSM we teach the importance of knowing your brother or sister in Christ that is doing the work of the Kingdom. We pray for each other, partner together and join together to be force on this earth that is undivided and unified together. This is the only way to reach the Nations with the gospel and bring His kingdom to our culture.

13Our Story

Redemption School of Ministry was birthed as a breeding ground for those who will shake the planet with the glory of God. What was a dream in the hearts of pastors Kevin and Deven Wallace for years became a reality during a powerful revival that gave rise to this school of the prophets. The Times of Refreshing revival became a catalyst through which God gave clear direction for RSM and its future. God sent provision to accompany the vision and by the blessing of God, an entire university campus was purchased at the heart of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The grounds that once served the iconic Tennessee Temple University are now being renovated for what will become a hub of life-giving ministry that is saturated with the Spirit of God. The leadership team of RSM has taken time to shape an experi-ence that is in keeping with the “school of the prophets” mandate that God gave pastors Kevin & Deven in the beginning. The rest of the amazing story is yet to be written!

14What to Expect

His Kingdom Is Our Culture… The phrase is more than a catchy school slogan. It is the vibe of Redemption School of Ministry. Imagine a place where believers from any tribe and nation could join together to create a sound of heaven on earth. Envi-sion a campus buzzing with the life of God. A place where friendships are made and relationships are forged that become a network of kingdom minded people through whom the kingdom of God is advanced. Consider a place where the ministry train-ing process comes to life by blending top-shelf, academic preparation with glorious worship encounters where your heart is invaded by The Presence of God. This is the core of the RSM experience. We believe that in order to be effective in ministry, we must not only be properly equipped but we must experience the presence of Jesus in a transformational way.

RSM is a Spirit-filled, Christ centered campus where hands-on, lab like, ministry preparation will occur in both classroom and community alike. Students will ex-perience powerful academic training in a highly relational environment all while serving the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee and it’s surrounding communities as agents of transformation. Our desire is to release sons and daughters who invade dark areas of the earth and simply turn the light on. Turn the light on by pushing back against social injustice. Turn the light on by lighting fires of revival and spiri-tual renewal in our generation. Turn the light on by declaring the love of Christ to a messed up world. In short RSM is called to invest into the lives of a generation who will finish what Jesus started.

It’s our expectation that you would have a burning passion for the name of Jesus. You would be empowered by the Holy Spirit to live a radical and holy life. That you would impact your world, you’re family, your community and ultimately your world with the power of the name of Jesus. As you continue your journey with RSM you will have a rich foundation of core principles and biblical knowledge. Students are grounded in the Word of God, bathed in intimacy with Jesus, stretched in faith, im-mersed in the Spirit, and practically equipped for life and ministry.

Foundation Semester Class Descriptions

Classes: Descriptions:

Life Detox

Life detox will be a time of Refreshing, Re-aligning and Discovery. This Lab will focus on discovering person strengths and gifts while taking time to look at personal lifestyle and “detox” from old habits.

Old Testament

Many people are curious about the Old Testa-ment but may lack an understanding of how it fits together. This course will be a simple over-view of the Bible and examine spiritual insights that speak to our hearts today. We hope that this short course will whet your appetite for further study in the Old Testament.

Serving the King

Serving the King means to fully surrender your life to Christ and live a life of obedience in the power of the Holy Spirit. This lab will teach you how to have a heart of a servant.

Discovering Your Call

It is my belief that once you know your pas-sion, you will know your calling. For many of us, discovering passion can seem like a daunting task, but there are questions you can answer that will help with your quest.

Personality & Spiritual Gift TestThis class will be spent on taking personality and spiritual gift tests, that will help you dis-cover your strengths and your God given gifts.

Honoring Others

A Culture of Honor sustains life, gives hope and speaks destiny in the hearts of everyone. In this Lab, you will examine how God set the example for us in that He honored His son Jesus and Jesus has honored us.

Awakening Nations

As Christians we are called to go into the entire world and make disciples. To tell all Nations: The Kingdom of God is here! Awakening is an activation and being about the Father’s busi-ness. This class will inspire you to dream about brining revival to the Nations.

Classes: Descriptions:

Father Heart of God

Life detox will be a time of Refreshing, Re-aligning and Discovery. This Lab will focus on discovering person strengths and gifts while taking time to look at personal lifestyle and “detox” from old habits.

Releasing Sons & Daughters

This class will the first of many that will focus on equipping and training an army of people to bring revival to the Nations. Our students will be fiery arrows in the hand of God, shot forth to release the Glory of God.

New Testamant

The New Testament is a record of historical events, the “good news’” events of the saving life of the Lord Jesus Christ—His life, death, resurrection, ascension, and the continuation of His work in the world

Leadership Seminars

We believe that every person is born with the potential to influence others. Jesus spent the greatest amount of His time training a group of leaders to impact the world.

Preparing for ExcellenceThis lab is about the pursuit of excellence. It is both a goal and a mark of spiritual maturity. God expects us to work with excellence and with our full heart.

Person of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is frequently misunderstood, leaving many clueless about who He is and how He expresses Himself to us. The Bible makes it clear that the Spirit is not something. He is someone—a Person who has promised to never leave your side.

Fruit of the Holy Spirit

“Fruit of the Spirit” is a biblical term that sums up the nine visible attributes of a true Christian life. The fruit of the Spirit is a physical manifes-tation of a Christian’s transformed life. In order to mature as believers, we should study and understand the attributes of the ninefold fruit.

Page 21: RSM Syllabus Proof

21

Classes: Descriptions:

Encountering God’s Glory

The glory of God is the beauty that emanates from His character, from all that He is. Ulti-mately it’s the manifestation of God’s presence. This is our pursuit at RSM. We were created to glorify God and experience His glory.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Gifts of the Spirit are special abilities provided by the Holy Spirit to Christians for the purpose of building up the body of Christ. The gifts of the Spirit are simply God enabling believers to do what He has called us to do.

Hearing God’s Voice

One of the greatest benefits of our salvation has to be that of hearing God speak to us per-sonally. There can be no intimate relationship with our heavenly Father without it. Learning to clearly distinguish God’s voice is invaluable. Instead of going through life blindly, we can have the wisdom of God guide and protect us.

Budgeting & Ministry

Financial principles are not just an organiza-tional necessity, but are a biblical responsibility that the church and ministries must uphold. We will highlight the foundation of those prin-ciples with practical application. “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much”

Networking within the Kingdom

We are all part of the same body but with different gifts and different callings but we are the church. This lab will teach the importance of praying, partnering and joining forces with each other to advance the kingdom.

Identity in Christ

You’re not defined by your feelings. You’re not defined by the opinions of others or by your circumstances. You’re not defined by your suc-cesses or failures. You are defined by God and God alone. He identifies you as his own.

Foundation Semester Class Descriptions

Page 22: RSM Syllabus Proof

22

Classes: Descriptions:

RevivalThe evidence of revival, a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon believers, is changed lives. We will begin to explore how it changes is and we in turn change the community around us.

Servanthood

Servanthood requires a mental shift, a change in your attitudes. God is always more interest-ed in why we do something than in what we do. Attitudes count more than achievements. Jesus “emptied himself by taking on the form of a servant.” When was the last time you emp-tied yourself for someone else’s benefit?

Social Engagement

This Lab will also analyses different types of social engagement options not limited to community outreach, evangelism, academic and social programs/interventions while ex-amining the biblical concepts based on social engagement for the spirit-filled believer in Luke 4:18-19.

Compassion

The principle of compassion is the very heart of Christ. The ministry of Jesus flowed from His heart of compassion toward those in need. Compassion is a word of action. It is not observing from the sidelines; it is the heart-felt care for another with both the intent and action.

Culture of Worship

Worship is not only a core value of our culture, but linked with prayer, it is our very founda-tion. God is the reward of worship and we long for His presence to overflow on our campus and in the lives of our students.
