Newsletter #7 October 24 2018 Student Involvement Events PROJECT CONDOM EXTENDED DEADLINE We're extending the deadline for Project Condom applications to next Monday, November 1st at 5PM. Make sure to get your organization's application in for a chance to win some prizes! DM for any questions. Link is on PAC's getconnected page. Annual Witch Watch Witch Watch is an annual event in which community members are invited to bring their children to campus for a safe trick-or- treating environment. Registered Student Organizations as well as Fraternity and Sorority Life give local children candy for Halloween. CLICK ON THE FLIER IF YOUR ORGANIZATION WOULD LIKE TO PARTIPCATE (BY OCT. 27). RSO Notes Mason Catering Reminder Please contact Mason Catering to book your event as soon as the date has been set. You can contact them by email at [email protected] or by phone at 703-993-3302. They will need to know the event date, time, and location to ensure if they can assist with your event. The order will need to be created in the system and will be there tentatively until your SFB funds come through. Please note that all catering tentative orders will need to be finalized and approved one week in advance. What's Happening on Campus Hunger Banquet On Wednesday, November 14th from 5pm – 7pm, Social Action and Integrative Learning (SAIL), is hosting the 2018 Hunger Banquet, in collaboration with in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability, the Leadership & Community Engagement LLC, the Environment & Sustainability LLC., Patriot Pantry and Mason Dining who have graciously provided our meals. Please RSVP This event can help raise awareness, as organizers and participants alike experience first-hand how our decisions affect others in the world. The next Mason graduation speaker could be you! All prospective graduates are invited to be considered for the Winter 2018 Graduation student speaker honors. Competition Rules and Requirements Entrant must be eligible to graduate in the December 20th ceremony Speech script must be original and no longer than 5-7 minutes in length – no exceptions Speech script must be submitted with name, college, and email address of the candidate Submissions must be received by the Office of University Events by NOON on Monday, November 12 All submissions are judged by an impartial panel of members of the university administration, faculty, staff, and students.
