Neighborhoods Near Rollins School of Public Health
Atlanta is comprised of different neighborhoods, each with a unique atmosphere and culture. The map
below highlights a few.
This map is available through ProMove (http://blog.promove.com/atlanta/atlanta-neighborhood/)
Druid Hills (5-10 minutes from campus): Emory is located in the Druid Hills neighborhood. This area is mainly residential with several large gated apartment complexes and some duplexes in which students live. Decatur (10-15 minutes from campus): This “small town” is located 10-15 minutes away from Emory. Downtown Decatur has restaurants, bars, and boutiques that Emory students frequent. Most students who live in Decatur rent duplexes or houses.
Neighborhoods Near Rollins School of Public Health (continued) Morningside/Virginia-Highland (10-15 minutes from campus): At the center of the Morningside/Virginia-Highland neighborhoods is North Highland Ave, a trendy street with a lot of bars and restaurants. Many young people live in this area in one of a few large apartment complexes, small older apartment buildings, or in duplexes and houses for rent. Candler Park/Inman Park (10-15 minutes from campus): These artsy neighborhoods have houses and small apartments for rent. Located between these two neighborhoods is the Little Five Points district, with restaurants, hipster bars, and second-hand shops. Midtown (20 minutes from campus): Midtown consists of mostly high-rise living or duplexes near Piedmont Park - a large park located close to downtown with biking and walking trails and a lot of open green space. The main drag in Atlanta, Peachtree Road, runs through Midtown, and there are bars and clubs along both Peachtree Street and nearby Crescent Avenue. Buckhead (20-25 minutes from campus): Buckhead is Atlanta’s main shopping district and most ritzy neighborhood. Many new college graduates live in one of the many large apartment complexes near Lenox or Phipps Malls.

How do Rollins students get to school? No matter where you choose to stay, you want to make sure you can get to the most important place in Atlanta…Rollins! Many students utilize the (free!)
