RUBRIC: COLOR & NARRATIVE ASSEMBLAGE & STILL LIFE PAINTING Objectives Design Studio Skills Presentation Your completed painting accurately & clearly depicts a selected portion of the assemblage you created. Your painting alludes to the narrative/metaphor your group used to make your assemblage by utilizing any of the following: light, size, proximity/location, or color/ value. You considered size, view, and placement when making your 3 thumbnail sketches. Your final composition creates visual interest by creatively using size, view, and/or placement. You included background/ negative space to support your painting & creates a sense of unity. You used your viewfinder to help you draw your thumbnail sketches, your final project, and when checking for accuracy. Your painting shows a range of color values. You accurately mixed paint to match the exact colors visible in your assemblage. You used sighting to help you achieve accurate proportions and angles of the forms you mapped out. You used your time wisely and appropriately during every class. You took care of the art materials and voluntarily assisted in clean-up on a daily basis. The painting is free of unnecessary smudges, smears, rips, and tears. No part of your paper is blank (unpainted). Your pencil marks are not visible. You took your time to complete each part of the painting; your painting shows evidence of hard work and effort.
