Handling & Finishing InstructionsAll doors must be handled carefully and stored flat on a level surface in a dry, well ventilated building. Doors should not be subjected to extremes of heat, dryness, or humidity. Doors should be conditioned to average prevailing relative humidity before installation.

Doors should be delivered to a building site only after plaster, texture or cement is completely dry, and if it is to be stored at building site for longer than one week, the entire door should be sealed with a penetrating base sealer or the equivalent.

Before finishing, the door surface must be clean, dry, and acclimatized. To prevent moisture penetration the entire door including all six (6) sides must receive at least two coats of paint, varnish, or sealer immediately after all machining and fitting.

Finish must be applied precisely in accordance with the manufacturer’s instruction. Water-thinned paint should be used only after application of an oil base primer.

One Year Limited WarrantyRugby ABP warrants that each stile and rail door from the Ultimate Wood Door Collection (UWDC) is a product made of suitable material and workmanship. Furthermore, we warrant that each door is free from defects that would render such door unserviceable for its intended purpose. All UWDC doors by Rugby are warranted to retain form and function during normal use, providing proper handling and finishing instructions are followed.

One (1) Year Limited Warranty

The limit of Rugby’s warranty is that each UWDC manufactured door will be repaired or replaced if a structural instability is found and it is determined that the defect was caused during the manufacturing process. Each UWDC manufactured door will be repaired or replaced if warping or twisting occurs. Warp on the plane of the door itself will be considered a defect only if it exceeds 1/4” when measured as a deviation from a straight edge. Wood naturally swells and shrinks due to climate and location. Rugby retains the right to delay replacement decisions until such time that proper acclimatization may occur.

Exclusions (This warranty excludes the following:)

= Oversize Doors: wider than 3’0” or taller than 8’0”

= Improper Hanging

= Natural Variations in Color and Texture of Wood

= Shrinking or Swelling

= Any Door Improperly Prepared, Installed, Coated or Used in an Inappropriate Manner or Application

= Improper Finish or Seal of the Door

= Doors Altered by Anyone Other than Rugby

= Buyer’s Neglect

= Improper Handling
