The Trident Systems family of next generation firewall security appliances couple Cisco ASA 5525-X and 5545-X hardware with special Trident Systems and NSA security enhancements for shipboard applications. These next generation firewalls use the Cisco SecureX framework which integrates the world's most proven firewall capabilities for providing a context-aware approach to security that delivers multiple security services, flexible interface options, multigigabit performance, and redundant power supplies (5545 versions) all in a compact 1-RU rack mountable form factor. These appliances provide option broad / deep network security through integrated cloud and software-based services that use identity for security policy determination without the need for additional hardware modules.

- Providing up to 3 Gbps of firewall throughput, 750,000 concurrent firewall connections, 30,000 connections per second, and expandable to add six additional integrated 10/100/1000 Fast Ethernet interfaces, the 5525-Sx and 5545-Sx provide a high-performance, cost-effective and extensible security solution which can grow as needs may change.- Approved component items on NSA's Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) Programs for use within the National Security Systems (NSS) in order to achieve mission objectives.
