Rules and Instructions All the instructions related to the registration, Judgment criteria, number of students in one group

and disqualifications are mentioned below and also there are all rules and regulations for each

event.

1. Qiraat Competition Each participant will be given a maximum of 4 minutes to recite the verses from The Holy

Quran.

If a participant makes a mistake while reciting, and the mistake was corrected by the judges,

the student will lose points.

Similarly, if a student makes a mistake and fails to adhere to Tajweed rules, and the mistake

is corrected by the judges, the student will lose points as well.

No point will be deducted by the judges for any mistake in Tilawah, Hifdh or Tajweed if

the student corrects himself/herself without the evaluator’s help. The judges will give the

student a chance for self-correction.

It is also advised to prepare a slideshow or a power point presentation of the verses you

chose to recite along with the translation in English for the audience to understand and

bring it with you

2.Naat Competition

1. Naat should be in Urdu language.

2. No repetition of verses will be made

3. Each participant will be allotted maximum 5 minutes to recite his/her selection.

4. All recitations must be delivered by memory.

5. The competitive assessment will be based on five factors: Quality of content , Correct

pronunciation ,Confidence in delivery , Quality of memorization, Quality of recitation

6. Tune must not copy or based on songs.

7. The Naat should have a maximum of four verse

3. Wire Speed Star (Speed Wiring):

An event based on evaluating the technical skills of the participants is presented forth. A relatively

complex circuit would be given to construct in predefined time limit. An Event consist of Two

round in which first round consist of MCQ’s and second round is to design a circuit. Speed,

neatness and understanding of the circuit are key points to earn maximum marks.

Rules Of Competition: 1. Each team will comprise of 3 members.

2. The duration of contest will be 2 hours.

3. Conversation and sharing of any material between teams is strictly prohibited.

4. Circuit schematics will be provided on the spot.

5. No use of mobile phone is allowed during event .

6. Datasheets / Pin configuration for the IC’s will be provided on the spot.

7. Violation of rules or misbehavior with the management may result in elimination.

8. Any helping material, if found, or any cheating attempt will lead to disqualification from the

competition.

9-Judgment will be based on

I. Time in which task is completed.

II. Working of the designed circuit

III. Neatness

10. Judges decision will be considered final.

11. Position will be awarded on verification of the circuit.

12. Registration Fee: 500 per team

4. Pro Guru (Speed Programming):

DESCRIPTION

This competition will be a test of programming skills of the participants. All the teams shall be given a

scenario, inputs and outputs and they will be asked to design and implement the solution. The Winner will

be the person/team completing the most problems successfully where as in the case of ties the final

decision will be made on the basis of speed of completion, with time-penalties for bad attempts. Rules

and regulations and registration details of the event are as follows:

Each team should consist of 2 participants of undergraduate level of one university

Use of mobile phones and other communication devices will be strictly prohibited during the competition.

Anyone seen using devices will be immediately disqualified. Such devices should be switched off and

placed in pockets / hand bags and not visible or accessible during the competition.

You are not allowed to collaborate/Communicate with anyone other than your team member during the

contest.

Rules for Program Submission:

The competition would include a number of challenging problems each of which would require you to

develop some algorithm and get the output in a fixed format on the console

Allowed languages are Java,c#, C/C++. The exec table file shall be submitted along with the code for fair

judgement.You will be required to submit the program files (Problem1.cpp, Problem2.java etc). Each file

should be named as according to the problem number. All files should be placed in a folder named after

the university name. Programs should be properly commented

The decision of the Judges will be final.

5. Digital Logic Designing: Be a logic master! Design the given logic problem using simple gates in given time and

implement it.


Each team will comprise of 3 members.

Each question will carry different marks.

Implementation of circuit and schematic diagram of circuit on the sheet is compulsory.

Tasks must be completed in given time limit.

Team using unfair means will be disqualified.

6. Maths Mania: So you think you can do math? Get ready to be challenged in this competition that aims to

crown the best mathematician. Raise your game and become a mathematical KING!

Rules and Regulations :

Max time limit is 90 minutes.

Internet usage will be allowed in last 30 minutes.

Each paper contains a Location Equation which will reveal the location of your next

Quiz.

First to complete All Questions in 90 minutes will win.

Breaking any rule or using internet before Golden time(last 30 mins) will cause

disqualification.

Decision made by Jury will be Final and not to argued with.

Solve the Questions on given sheets.

7. General Knowledge Quiz: This event will comprise of Only General knowledge questions.

Rules & Regulations:

Team will consist of maximum 3 members.

Competition will comprise of two rounds.

Only 1st Round Qualifier Will be in 2nd Round.

MCQ’s TEST General Question

Participants will be briefed regarding the rules once before the start of each

competition round.

Violation of rules will lead to immediate disqualification.

8. E-GAMMING: Team changes should be informed 15-20 minutes prior to the start of match.

Players are allowed to bring their own headphones and mouse.

For Team Games: Teams should be complete and present before the start of the

match. Any member missing should be informed. Otherwise the late arrivals won't be

entertained or allowed to play the match.

In case of any problem or for reporting some player, organizers should be informed

immediately.

Any kind of system or device malfunctioning should be reported to organizers

immediately.

Any kind of tackling on your own will not be the responsibility of the organizers.

Disqualification

o Any use of game trainer will result in disqualification.

o Use of foul language can result in disqualification.

o Intentional disconnection from the game will result in disqualification.

Rules for Call of Duty 4

o Each team must have at least 5 players.

o promod_mode match_mr12 will be used.

o Should a team not ready up within 5 minutes during a side switch or a map change,

the opposing team may leave immediately and claim a forfeit win.

o Team with maximum wins will qualify for next round.

o Team side decision as well as in case of a tie knife round will decide wining team.

o Round time limits can be changed by organizing team.

o In promod ,1 Sniper, 1 Demolition, 2 SMGs and maximum of 3 Assault Rifles are

allowed for a single team.

o Air strikes are not allowed.

Rules for Need for Speed

o Sprint Races.

o 4 players per race as per standard game play

o No performance upgrades are allowed.

o Only visual upgrades are allowed.

o Players must choose from the available cars.

o Players must maintain the final screen after they end a race, so their positions

can be confirmed.

o Top 2 players per race will qualify further.

o 1 vs 1 only.

o Match time will be set by organizing team.

o Winner will qualify for next round.

o In case of tie, players will decide to take extra time/penalties/golden goal.

o Players may bring their own controllers.

9. Sketching: Are you the one who can make awesome sketches? If yes, then INNOVATIA is providing you

a great opportunity to make a live sketch to become the best sketch maker in the INNOVATIA

2016.


The theme for Sketching will be “_________”.

Only an individual can participate in this event.

Any misbehavior will result in disqualification.

The decision of the judges shall be considered final.

The time of the competition will be from 9 to ONWORDS .

The sketchings will be judged on the basis of innovation, originality, and relevance

to the theme.

Cardboard, pencils and erasres will be provided by the team innovatia.

Must not include words, national flags, or slogans.

Name of participant as well as the university’s name and team name must be clearly

mentioned on the back of the paper.


Sketches will remain with FUUAST.

10. Ludo: Come and enjoy the environment with us and also refresh your Childhood memories by playing

Ludoo.


A maximum of 2 participants is allowed per team.

General Ludoo rules apply.


11. Chess The game of chess is played between two opponents who move their pieces alternately on

a square board called a ‘chessboard’. The player with the white pieces commences the game. A

player is said to ‘have the move’, when his opponent’s move has been ‘made

12. Web Designing

DESCRIPTION

The World Wide Web is the most transformable invention of our time. This competition features the

creation of high-quality, well-designed and original Websites, while seeking to identify and encourage

future talent in this area.

EVENT DETAILS

Competition Requirement:

The requirement of the competition is to produce a minimum of 4 pages of website based on the

competition theme. Each team can do all the work of creating the web pages using ANY available web

development tools.

Limitation: Only one (1) submission per team will be judged. If multiple submissions from the same

team are received, only the last submission will be judged.

Topic: Topic will be given on the start of the competition

No CMS allowed.

Internet is allowed but university shall not provide any facility of internet.

Special Note: All students who are participating in this event “Web Development “are hereby advised to

bring their Laptop.

13. Logo Designing Competition Rules Regulations:

There will be maximum TWO participants from each institution.

This will be an on spot designing competition.

Maximum time allowed is 1 hours.

A theme for the logo will be allotted on the spot.

Participants will not be allowed to bring along any pre-made stuff.

Internet is allowed but university shall not provide the internet facility.

Software’s like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel draw.

The participants will have to hand over the PSDs (Photoshop files,ai file,eps,cdr files)

to the vent heads at the end.

Your logo will be judged based on your idea, creativity, execution and special effects.

Special Note: All students who are participating in this event “Web Development “are hereby

advised to bring their Laptops.

14. Bilingual Essay Writing: Are you a talented essay writer? Then take advantage of this chance to get rewarded for your

work! This event is all about supporting writers and providing the motivation they need. The

purpose of this essay writing contest is to inspire writers from the universities to showcase

their creative and critical thinking skills.


The topics of competition shall be unveiled at the start of the competition.

The time of essay writing will be 1 hour.

The essay should not be less than 1000 words.

Sheets and pens will be provided by FUUAST Islamabad.

16. Bilingual Debates:

Rules and Regulations • The competition will be Bilingual declamation with English and Urdu category.

• The competition will consist of only one round.

• A Maximum of 2 teams are allowed per institution and individual participants are also allowed.

• Prizes will be awarded to First, Second and third position holders in all categories.

• The Team Trophy will be awarded to the team with highest aggregate points of English and

Urdu speakers.

• There is compulsion for a team that if one member of team chooses a serious topic from one

language, second speaker will choose the humorous topic from other language and vice versa.

• The time limit for each participant will be 3-5 minutes. Speakers failing to follow the time-limit

will be penalized by judges.

• Paper reading is strictly prohibited.

• Speakers will be judged on the basis of content of their speech, proficiency of language,

delivery of speech and the audience response.

• Speakers will not be allowed to make objectionable, vulgar and indecent remarks against any

religion, caste, creed, political party or personage.

• Judges can disqualify participant over the violation of any rule.

• Speakers from host institution will not compete for the prize.

• The decision of judges will be final.

17. Scavenger Hunt: Scavenger Hunt is a social event in which students from different universities can

participate. Sharp minds win the battle because it will not be a child’s play.


• Each team will comprise of 4 members, including the team captain.

• Each task will carry different points, depending on the level of difficulty.

• Each team will be provided a map of the campus for ease of navigation.

• Each team will have to complete the given tasks within a specified time limit.

• Any team found getting help from an external source or using unfair means to gain

advantage will face disqualification; members of the management team will be on the

lookout to keep the game fair.

• Please be at the venue on time to avoid risk of disqualification.

18. Photography Competition:

Pictures Submitted to the judges must be of the on-going event. The pictures must present the

positives of the event.


Theme: Innovatia 16

Team: one member

Participant needs to submit 10 pictures.

Pictures should be captured in the universities premises.

Any subject outside or any person without permission in the picture will result in the disqualification.

Processing/editing is prohibited. Pictures must be submitted in a flash drive/CD/DVD, till 12 pm on 3rd

day of event.

19. Selfie Competition:

Pictures Submitted to the judges must be taken in FUUAST CAMPUS. Rules and Regulations:

Minimum members in a team are 2 and maximum 5.

Minimum and maximum 10 selfies.

Every participant must be in the selfie.

Participants must upload their selfies before 9 pm on second day of event on facebook.com/FUUAST-

Media-Club.

Mentioning their Universities and teams name.

50 % will be marked on likes on selfies and 50% will be marked by judges.

20. Cricket: Rules and Regulations:

1. The tournament will be knockout.

2. Squad will be of 11 players.

3. Eight (8) players in each team can play out of the squad of 11 players.

4. Six (6) overs match and only one bowler can bowl two (2) overs.

5. In case of any unethical act the team will be disqualified.

6. There will be the score of leg-bye, bye and over throw.

7. Free Hit on any type of No-ball.

8. Any team coming 15 min late to the ground, will be disqualified.

21. Arm Wrestling:

So you think you are strong enough? Here is an opportunity to prove yourself.

Rules and Regulations: Competition will be based on knock out system.

One foul will be ignored. And on second foul participant will be disqualified.

22. MIN to Win It.

Everyone should complete his task in one minute.

Next there will be five different Tasks to be Completed; having points on first two tasks and being

disqualification on the last three tasks meaning that one have to be disqualified if he failed to

complete any of the last three tasks.

23. DUBSMASH

1. At least 5 Dubsmashes of each team

2. Team Wil be 2-5 Members

3. Location must change in each Dubsmash

4. Atleast 1 song dubsmash must be Included

5. Dubsmash Must be make in Federal Urdu University (FUUAST)

6. Team should send a Compiled Video(1 Video File)

24. Wall Graffiti

1. Topic will be Provided on the Spot

2. Time required is 2 Hour

3. Bring Material with You

4. Team Wil be Max 5 Members

5. Result will be Judged on the basis of neatness and clear idea of your work

25. Redefining Pakistan

1. A team Must be of 5 -8 Members

2. Presentation must be on Power Point and comprised of Audio,Video,Stills and Video Ads

3. Avoid Useless Information And Solution Should be sustainable and Realistic

4. Team May be Disqualified if data is Fake

5. There will be 5 min Q&A session

6. Team will also be awarded extra Points for Pointing out actual Flaws in the solution of

the Other Participant

26. Ideathon In Ideathon contest one representative of each team will introduce themselves, and then have 60

seconds to pitch the essence of their business to the judges and the audience in an attempt to entice

a team of investor/judges to inquire further about the venture. The idea has to be unique and

innovative.

It is basically is a brief overview of an idea for a product, service, or project that can be delivered

in the space of an elevator ride (say, sixty seconds or 200-300 words). The goal is to interest your

target enough in your idea that he or she wants to meet with you again. Potential investors often

judge the quality of an idea and team on the basis of its elevator pitch, using them to quickly weed

out bad ideas.

The essential elements include: An introduction – Who are you?

Hook – What is the problem / opportunity?

Solution – What are you doing about it?

Value proposition – How does this create value for the target?

Call to action – Can we meet again?


Only one participant from each team can pitch the idea.

Pitches must be no longer than 60 seconds. Pitches will be hard stopped at the 60 second mark.

Time begins when the presenter begins speaking.

No visual aids, index cards, slides, or props may be used during the pitch.

Presenter must be physically present and give the elevator pitch live, in person.

Presenter must stay on the stage during the pitch.

Presenters will be scheduled to present in random order. A list with the presentation order will

be generated on the day of the event.

The decision of the judges will be final. No appeal or alteration in decision will be made under

any circumstances.

Lack of discipline can disqualify any team from the contest.

Judging Criteria: Pitches will be evaluated on five, equally-weighted categories:

1. Presentation: a. Body Language/Charisma, Clarity, Articulation, Passion.

2. Uniqueness: a. How unique and innovative the idea is.

3. Opportunity: a. Market Identification, Size and Attractiveness, Target Customer Identification.

4. Solution: a. Value Proposition, Differentiation, Financial Viability/Profitability.

5. The Big Question: a. would you get another meeting?

27. Short Film Each team has to present a video on any open topic of their choice with a clear theme.

No video should be less than the minimum time limit (4 minutes).

No video should exceed the maximum time limit (7 minutes). Marks will be deducted for

each extra minute.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges based on creativity, originality and relevancy

Judges are the ultimate authority and no one can challenge their decision.

Participating teams are not allowed to portray any content in their videos which is below

moral standards.

Animated videos will not be catered.

Each team can comprise 3 members (director + editor + writer) at the most.

Videos (Films / Documentaries) will be played on a multimedia projector (1200 X 800

pixels) and big screen (15 X 10 ft.); therefore they must be formatted on CD’s / USB. No

VHS recording will be entertained.

The participants must bring a copy of their work (CD/ DVD) at least one day before the

competition in order to screen test the documentary/ short film.

29. Mehendi (Girls) RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Participant cannot apply mehndi on her own hand.

Design should be clear.

Design must be complete in given time.

Use of any material and copying is not allowed.

After the time is over participant cannot meet the model.

Decision of judges will be final.

Any type of misbehavior will lead to disqualification.

30. Nail Arts (Girls) RULES & REGULATION:

No pre-done work is allowed, all work must be done on the competition site.

Contestants must register themselves prior to the closing of registration but their models’

names must be submitted 15 minutes before the competition starts.

Contestants must bring all their own necessary products and supplies to work with.

Use of cell phones and internet is allowed.

One entry includes a contestant and a model or the contestant could be the model too.

Every contestant has to work solely, external help even of the model is not allowed.

Once the competition has begun, competitors may not use products other than the ones,

they had at the start of the competition.

Contestants and models may not leave the competition area during the competition unless

permission is taken.

Once the competition ends, contestants can’t reach their models.

When the time ends, competitors must immediately stop working.

Models are not allowed to wear any jewelry on their hands and wrists.

Any competitor or model found not complying with the rules is subjected to possible

disqualification or point deduction.

31. Card Designing (Girls)

RULES & REGULATION: 1. Team is composed of only ONE member.

2. Total 30 minutes will be allowed for each participant.

3. Size of card will be announced on the spot.

4. Participants must bring their own material according to their desire.

5. Participant must show their material 15 minutes before start of competition.

6. Exchange of any material among participants will not be allowed.

7. Participant is not allowed to bring any sample design or any idea capturing material with her.

8. Winner will be decided on the basis of creativity and smoothness of design.
