• Then created a central senate with nine member they were in charge of the government when the tsar was away with the army.

• Peter helped make Russia the largest iron producer in Europe

• He sent some Russians aboard for technical training.

• He tried to attract west European crafts people to Russia.

• Peter created a all new Russian navy• He wanted to secure ports to trade

with the west and give Russia more influence.

• This led to wars with the ottoman empires

Peter the Greats Legacy

• After Peter’s death nobles and soldiers regain control over the monocracy.

• In the end he had modernize Russia but was unable to make it stable.
