BEMPONG, FrederickFrederick Bempong, 35, of Brampton, Ontario passed on Sunday, January 17, 2016. He was born to the late James Omari and Matilda Serwaa Bempong on June 06, 1980, in Nkawkaw, Ghana. He came to Canada in 1991 and attended Bishop Scalabrini Catholic Elementary School. Frederick graduated from St. Ignatius of Loyola Secondary School in 1999. He then attended Centennial College for Auto Body Repairer Techniques Program. He was engaged to Jacqueline Neish in 2004 and they lived together in Oakville and then relocated to Brampton. Frederick was employed by Convoy Building Supply in Etobicoke. Frederick loved to race his sports car, play basketball, fishing, play video games, and his new love was for travelling. Frederick was the founder of the Black Stars Children Foundation which is a not for profit organization which aims to educate and eliminate poverty in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Frederick is survived by his fiancee Jacqueline Neish and two children: Jadyn and Jordan Bempong, his mother Matilda Bempong, His sister Bertha Bempong and his nephew Chance Bempong-Mireku. Visitation will take place at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery (3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON) Friday, January 29th from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery on Saturday, January 30th at 1:00 p.m., interment to follow at 2:30 p.m.

DICK, Nancy (nee Tannock)May 15, 1939 - January 19, 2016Nancy is survived by Ron, her beloved and devout husband of over 50 years. She was a loving mother and will be missed dearly by her daughter Debbie and husband Norm. Proud and devoted grandmother to Deven and Hailey. Cherished “Big Sister” to Isabel and family, as well as Sandra in Scotland. Predeceased by her loving father, mother and brother. She will be sadly missed by her dear friends in Scotland and Canada. Born in Scotland, she moved to Canada in 1960 and soon met the love of her life, Ron. They married and settled in Oakville where they raised their daughter. Nancy worked at CT and served many years as a teller at Scotiabank (Third Line and Speers). During her career, she touched thousands of lives with her thoughtfulness, constantly going the extra mile for her customers. Always one to help, she volunteered for many organizations and was an active member of her church. Nancy made many friends while participating in prayer groups, TOPS, bowling, and crafting. She was an avid reader and gardener, but especially loved her daily routine of having coffee with Helga and other friends. She was an accomplished traveller and enjoyed many cruises with Ron. Dearest to her heart were her grandchildren. She adored watching them during their many sporting and school events with in- laws Renete and Helmut. Nancy will be remembered as a good natured and compassionate person. Her zest for life and fun loving spirit were infectious. Her kindness, love and beautiful smile will be missed. A special thanks to Donna Brown, Gillian, Nadeen and Jarlyn who were so kind and respectful to Nancy in her final years. Loved father of Jackie and her husband Valerio Capretta, Louise and her husband Jim Forsyth and Suzanne and her husband Gary Summerhayes. Dear grandfather of Gilles (Ayse) Bastien, Kevin (Robyn) Forsyth, Shawn Forsyth, Morgan Summerhayes and great-grandfather of Hunter, Aliya, Fletcher, Finley and Adara. PERRENOUD, Roger Marcel Passed away peacefully at the Brant Centre on January 21, 2016, in his 93rd year. Roger was born in Boudry, Switzerland. He is survived by his loving family: his wife Marcelle, his children, Michele (Paul), Pierre (Charlotte), Dominique, and Isabelle (Chris) his grandchildren, Lisa (Chris), James, Steven, Derek and Ryan and his great-grand children, Malia and Roger. And by his brothers, Claude and Eric and their children and grandchildren. During his career as a professional electrical engineer, Roger worked on major installations across Canada, the United States, Mexico and Brazil. Roger loved big family parties, The Lawrence Welk Show and was an avid hockey fan and world traveler. Roger’s family would especially like to thank the staff of Spencer Creek at the Brant Centre for their kindness and care. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 28 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Oakview Funeral Home, 56 Lakeshore Road, Oakville. TURNER, Michael BensonIt is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Benson Turner after a brief illness on Friday, January 22nd, 2016 at the age of 62.
