Kiddy CampA Summer Of Fun In The Sun
Registration: Monday, February 9th at 6:30 p.m. #’s distributed at 6:00 p.m.

Kiddy Camp is specifically for children ages 3-5 (but not entering kindergarten). It is a 6-week, half-day, classroom based program. Every day the children will participate in free play, story time, songs, outdoor play, art, sports and much more! Special events and entertainment are held weekly to enhance the program. b Parents supply a snack & a drink daily
Proposed Camp Site: Midland SchoolProposed Camp Time: 9:00 - 12:00 p.m.
Kiddy Camp has a limited enrollment. Ninety (90) spaces are allotted for this program. Once that limit has been reached, names will be placed on a waiting list. Children must be 3 years old by April 30, 2015 and be toilet trained to be eligible (no pull-ups).

Lower Camp Camp No Left Turn

Lower Camp offers an active, supervised camp program for children enrolled in grades K-2 as of September 2015. Camp groups are co-ed by grade. Sports, group games, arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, and special theme days are just part of the fun planned for these campers.

Camp trips are optional and not included in the camp fee. There will be a separate registration form and payment is required for ALL trips.
LOWER CAMP SPECIALS:b Beginner Swim - Pool Safety: Children enrolled in this program will be taken to Rye Golf Club three times a week for a 30-40 minute swim period. There is limited enrollment in the Beginner Swim program; limits are due to time restrictions and safety regulations as specific staff to camper ratios are mandated by the Department of Health. Only 6-week campers are eligible to participate. Swim days are planned on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9:00 – 12:00 p.m. Fee: $120
b MAD SCIENCE: Grade K: Mad Science of Westchester will come to camp and make a scientist out of your child in no time. Children will be taken out of regularly scheduled classes to participate in this special program. Fee: $50
Jr. Rocketry (Grades 1 & 2): Have a “blast” as you discover the dynamics of rocket flight. Discuss Isaac Newton and his awesome Laws of Motion. Learn how and why rockets fly as you build your very own model rockets that you will take home at the end of the session. Fee: $40
Dino Casts (Grade 1 only): Enter the Jurassic age as you create your own velociraptor skeleton replicas. Campers will cast and mount these 24” long models as you learn about these ancient beasts. Fee: $40
Magical Illusions (Grade 2 only): This program will explore the science of sight and misdirection. Work together with us to create your own special optical devices that change the way you see the world and fool your friends! Fee: $40
Mad Science Gr. b JEWELRY & BEADING: Campers will create beautiful and wearable take home items each week in this engaging, fun, hands on and creative workshop. Everyone will use a professional design board and choose from an amazing and high end selection of beads and charms. New projects will be featured for summer of 2015. Upper Camp is specifically for children enrolled in grades 3-6 as of September 2015. Campers are grouped by gender and grade. This camp program gives campers the opportunity to participate in a variety of trips and programs including sports, games, arts & crafts, indoor rec, a variety of special events, and themed days.

School House Chess: Schoolhouse Chess is devoted to helping kids develop learning and thinking skills by teaching them chess. Chess has been proven to help with logic, memory, analysis, reading, and mathematics, and has even been shown to improve IQ. We teach chess with fun characters and stories that are woven into a logical, step-by-step curriculum that begins with the basic rules and extends through advanced strategies and tactics. Participants will be grouped by ability (Beginner or Advanced). Program dates: July 13, 15 & 16 Fee: $85
Robotics-The Hyper Peppy: Learn about and play with robots while we discuss what makes robots different from humans. Then build this Hyper Peppy. It’s an intelligent robot with a touch/sound sensor. If it comes in contact with an object or hears a loud noise (such as hands clapping), Hyper Peppy automatically reverses, then turns left before embarking on a new course. Program dates: July 27, 29 & 30 Fee: $85
b BRICK KIDS - FUN WITH LEGOS™ (Time for both classes ~ 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.):
Marble Run: Join Brick Kids and build a HUGE marble run out of LEGO™ bricks! GO BIG WITH BRICK KIDS! We will work on an entire city together and then turn the city into a HUGE MARBLE RUN! Plus freestyle building with tables FULL of LEGO™ bricks! Program date: Monday, July 20 Fee: $20
Giant Castle: HELP the BIG KIDS from BRICK KIDS build a BIG castle out of LEGO™ bricks! We have to populate it with a DRAGON and a LOT of minifigures! 2 hours of outrageous medieval fun! Plus tables of freestyle LEGO™ bricks so that you can have some creative fun building from your imagination. Program date: Monday, August 3 Fee: $20

Come join Rye Recreation and your friends for a fun filled adventure this summer. If you are going into 7th or 8th grade and you’re looking for something exciting to do this summer, Camp 78 is for you! This camp goes on different adventures daily. We have an array of trips and activities planned for this summer. Come build everlasting friends and memories for your 2015 summer vacation.

Camp 78 Policy on Switching Weeks
• ALL REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED IN WRITING IN THE MAIN OFFICE. You may send an email to [email protected] or come in to the main office at the Damiano Center, 281 Midland Avenue.
Requests Received by May 29:
• If you wish to change weeks, you may do so provided your request is received in writing by May 29 and space is available. If there is no space in the week you wish to transfer to, it will be considered a withdrawal from the original week (subject to the withdrawal fee) and you will be placed on the wait list for the week you desire.
May 30 and After:
• Effective May 30, if you want to change weeks, it is considered a withdrawal from the original week and is subject to the published withdrawal policy (no refund). If there is room in the week desired, it is considered a new registration and is subject to the late fee. If there is no room, you will be placed on the wait list.

Please read carefully:
• All trips are subject to change.
• Please make sure you complete a waiver for all the trips that have a (W) next to the name.
• It is mandated by the Westchester County Board of Health that ALL campers be swim tested by a Water Safety Instructor (WSI) EACH YEAR.
∆ Regardless of the week(s) the camper attends, a completed swim test form should be submitted to Rye Recreation by Tuesday, June 16th.
• Beginning in June, weekly calendars with up-to-date trip information will be distributed via our camp email distribution list.

General Camp InformationRegistration: (Dates listed throughout the publication)• Registration must be done in person by the parent/guardian of the child.• Submit a completed application for each child. • A copy of your child’s immunizations record is required at the time of registration. • A birth certificate is required for Kiddy Camp only. • Bring proof of residency. • Space is limited. All fees increase as of June 1.
Payment:• Rye Recreation accepts checks or credit cards (MC or Visa).• For a $20 fee, payments may be split in two with half of the payment processed the week of
registration and the balance to be processed on June 1. Both payments are collected at the time of registration.
• Children will not be permitted to start camp with any unpaid balances.
Scholarship Assistance:Rye Recreation will partially assist qualified residents with the cost of the camp program. Please request an application for scholarship and return it completed with the appropriate documents at the time of registration. A $100 per child deposit is required. Medical Information:As required by the Department of Health, your child’s immunization record is mandatory at the time of registration. Any child required to take medication at camp must complete a special Permission of Medication Administration form which requires a doctor’s signature. This medical form can be downloaded on our website: www.ryeny.gov/recreation.cfm
Rye Recreation 2015 Camp Withdrawal/Refund Policy:• ALL REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED IN WRITING IN THE MAIN OFFICE. You may send an email

• Requests received by May 29 will be refunded at the rate of 75% of the total fee paid.• Kiddy Camp, Lower Camp and Upper Camp requests received from May 30 through June 19
will be refunded at the rate of 50% of the total fee paid.• There are no refunds for Camp 78 requests received after May 29.• There are no refunds for Kiddy Camp, Lower Camp and Upper Camp requests received after
June 19.• This policy also applies to special add-on programs (e.g. Mad Science, etc.).• Documented medical reasons are an exception to this policy.
