MESSAGE FROM MR TIDSWELL…

This week both Mr Dow and Mr Stephenson have taken many of the KS2 children to sporting tournaments. Mr Dow took 10 children to the Leeds Tri-Golf Tournament at Priesthorpe on Tuesday. Mr Dow's passion for this sport really shows through in the enthusiasm of the children and they had a very enjoyable afternoon of golf and showed lots of friendly, but competitive spirit. On Wednesday Mr Stephenson took a team of Year 5 and 6 girls to a very wet and muddy day of football at the John Charles Centre. Again, the children had a wonderful time, but the conditions were awful and they all came back tired, wet and muddy, but they did well! My thanks goes to Mr Dow and Mr Stephenson for organising these activities.

Next week we have our school Literacy Week. This year we have tied several things together under the theme of Europe and titled the week "European Week." Each year group in school will be studying a European country and producing lots of exciting work related to this.

On Thursday, the children will learn about the EU referendum and we will even be having our own 'Ryecroft Referendum.' How exciting! We will let you know the results of this in next week's newsletter. On the day we will even have a European themed lunch, with lots of delicious food from different European countries.

Tri Golf at Priesthrope

This event was attended by 9 local schools and involved our pupils taking part in 4 x

20 minute sessions around an obstacle course, testing their putting and chipping skills.

They really enjoyed the challenge.

Referendum Dress Up Day
