Dear Parishioners and Friends: On Sunday, September 1, we welcome our newPastor, Father David Nolan, as he begins hisassignment here at Blessed Sacrament. Born inBrooklyn, Father Nolan worked in the textileindustry for many years, during which time hewas a parishioner here at Blessed Sacrament,where he served as head of the PastoralCouncil, ran CCD, and volunteered at theWomen’s Shelter. Father Nolan was Ordained in1995, and comes to us from the Parish of St.Joseph of the Holy Family in Harlem, where hehas served for the past 11 years. Father Nolanhas also just finished a five year term, working asthe Catholic Chaplain for the womenincarcerated at Rose M. Singer Correctional, thewomen’s prison on Riker’s Island. Father Nolanwill celebrate the Saturday and Sunday eveningMasses this weekend, as well as the Sunday12:30 Mass, but he will also preach every Massthis weekend, so as to introduce himself to theParish. The following Sunday, September 8,there will Coffee Hour after the morning Massesin the Rectory, a light reception in the ChurchHall after the 12:30PM Mass, Spirit Sunday afterthe 5:30pm Mass. This Monday, September 2 is Labor Day. TheParish will offer one Mass at 12:10pm. TheChurch will be open for prayer from 7am-3pmand the Rectory Office from 9am-2pm. This week we welcome back the faculty, staff,and students of Blessed Sacrament School. Thisyear marks a new beginning for our School withthe opening of its second campus, Sacred Hearton 52nd Street, which will house the UpperSchool, grades 4-8. We welcome our newPrincipal, Mrs. Maureen Noonan, and send ourtwo heads of school, Mr. Nick Fargione and Mrs.Megan Gonzales, and assurance of prayers andsupport as they begin their year. We continue to pray for Father John Duffell, forpeace and resolution during this difficult time. As always, pray for peace.

Queridos Feligreses y Amigos; El domingo 1 de septiembre, damos la bienvenida anuestro nuevo Pastor, el Padre David Nolan, quienempieza su misión aquí en “Blessed Sacrament.” Nacido en Brooklyn, Padre Nolan trabajó en laindustria textil durante muchos años, durante loscuales fue feligrés aquí en nuestra Parroquia, ydonde participó como jefe del Consejo Pastoral,dirigió el CCD y fue voluntario en el Refugio paraMujeres. Fue ordenado en 1995 y viene a nosotrosdesde la parroquia de San José de la SagradaFamilia en Harlem, donde ha servido durante losúltimos 11 años. Padre Nolan también acaba determinar un período de cinco años, trabajando comocapellán católico para las mujeres encarceladas en elCorrectional Rose M. Singer, la prisión para mujeresen Rikers Island. Padre Nolan celebrará este fin desemana las misas del sábado y domingo a las 5:30p.m. así como la misa del domingo a las 12:30 p.m.,pero también predicará en cada misa del fin desemana, para presentarse a los feligreses.
