BACKGROUND
Specimenretrievalbagsarenecessaryduringahand‐assistedlaparoscopicradicalnephrectomyforthesaferemovalofacancerouskidneyfromtheabdominalcavity.Theaimofthisprojectistodesignandconstructamoreefficientspecimenretrievalbagtodecreasethetotalopera(ve(meofthenephrectomy.Testswereconductedusinganar(ficialenvironmentthatsimulatesahuman abdomen. Futurework for next semesterwill be formedical students to prac(ce thenephrectomy in an animal lab on campus to test the total (me and ergonomics of the finaldesignswhileminimizingtheriskofmetastasis.
