The 5th Grade shared a very fruitful visit to the Texas Medieval Festival on Wednesday, November 2nd. STCS students participated in academic and musical performance competitions as part of the festival’s “School Days” events. In the Essay Contest, Intermediate Division, Ana Granados placed second with her essay, “Understanding Death in the Renaissance,” while Lance Alonte placed first with his essay, “A Bite in the Renaissance.” In the Poetry Contest, Intermediate Division, Lance Alonte took first place with his poem, “The Armoured Warrior.” The 5th grade choir, led by Mr. Zachary Turner, placed second in the Elementary Music Ensemble competi-tion, singing the Gregorian Chant Salve Regina, as well as a setting of the Magnificat by Ciro Grassi. We are so proud of our wonderfully gifted students and educators for how well they represented our school and parish. Go Griffins!

Grant your faithful, we pray, almighty God, the resolve to run forth to meet your Christ

with righteous deeds at his coming, so that, gathered at his right hand,

they may be worthy to possess the heavenly Kingdom.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
