Welcome to Kiln Theatre. You are coming to see White Teeth.

Kiln Theatre is a theatre in Kilburn. When you arrive you will enter the building either by the entrance on Kilburn High Road or the entrance on Buckley Road.

This is what the entrance on Kilburn High Road looks like.

Once you enter the building you will go up a corridor towards the main foyer.

The Box Office, restaurant and bar will be on your left.

The theatre doors will be straight ahead.

This is what the entrance on Buckley Road looks like.

Once you enter the building the Box Office will be on the right.

The restaurant, bar and theatre doors will be straight ahead.

Once you have arrived, you can buy or collect your tickets from the Box Office.

The Box Office might be busy or noisy and you might have to wait in a queue, but our staff are very friendly.

If you have any questions or need any help, ask a member of staff. They will be wearing a Kiln Theatre uniform and will be happy to assist you. There are also signs on the walls to help you find different places.

The Bar and Kitchen is located in the main foyer. At the Bar you can buy drinks or snacks. At the Kitchen you can buy a hot meal. You can also eat something you have brought with you, if you prefer.

The foyers may be busy and there may be some music playing.

The toilets are located in the corridor by the Kilburn High Road entrance. One toilet is for all women, one is for all men, and the disabled bathroom is unisex.

The doors to the theatre will open 15 minutes before the show starts so that you can take your seat.

It may get crowded and noisy as people go to the doors.

There will be tannoy announcements telling you when there are five minutes, three minutes and one minute before the start of the performance.

You will either be downstairs in the stalls or upstairs in the gallery. Your ticket will tell you where your seat is. You can ask an usher if you aren’t sure.

An usher will be at the theatre doors to check your tickets and show you to your seats.

The aisles are quite narrow and you may need to squash past people to get to your seat.

Inside the auditorium the lights are dimmer but it will never be fully dark.

Remember to switch off your phones. You are not allowed to take photos once the performance has started.

When the play is about to start the lights will dim, and people will be quieter so that you can hear the actors better.

As the show features music numbers, there will be loud music and shouting throughout, as well as strong language and mild violence. There will also be haze throughout the show.

At several points, there will be flashing lights. This will be:

- When the scene changes from the dentist to the hospital- Whenever Mad Mary says “Rewind!” or “Fast forward!”- During the scene set in the First World War- After the newsreader announces the hurricane- After Mad Mary says “Everything happened in the ‘80s”- After the characters say “New Year’s Eve 1992”

There will also be three gunshots. These will be:

- During the scene set in the First World War (2)- When the characters are in Science Institute (1)

There will also be loud noises. These will be:

- When Mad Mary stabs Rosie in the dentist’s office- Whenever Mad Mary says “Rewind!” or “Fast forward!”- During the scene set in the First World War- After the newsreader announces the hurricane- After the characters say “New Year’s Eve 1992”

If you need any further information about the content of the production, please speak to one of our ushers, who will be happy to tell you anything you want to know.

If you wish to leave the auditorium at any point, you may return at any time. You can also watch the play on a TV monitor just outside the auditorium if you prefer.

During the play there will be a 20 minute break where you can go to the toilet or buy a drink or a snack.

There will be a tannoy announcement when it is time to go back in.

The foyers may be busy and noisy during the interval.

When the play is over you can clap and cheer to let the actors know that you enjoyed it.

Then it will be time to leave the theatre.
