KINGS OF ORIENT

CALL TO WORSHIPOne: Arise, shine, for your light has come,

And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. All: The brightness of God’s light

Shines upon all the nations. All are welcomed to the brightness of God’s dawn.

One: God gathers us from far away and carries us.With radiant eyes, with rejoicing hearts,We receive the abundance God gives.

All: We respond in praise. With our gifts, with our very selves,We worship God.

PRAYER OF THE DAY

*HYMN #141 “On This Day Earth Shall Ring” PERSONENT HODIE

*CALL TO CONFESSION

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison)God of justice, we confess that our actions are evil where we remain passive while others are oppressed; whenever we guard our own prosperity at the expense of those who are poor; or when we ignore the cries of those in need of help. Forgive us, we pray, for hiding in the darkness of this world more than loving the light of your righteousness made known to us in Jesus Christ. Judge us with mercy, we pray, and extend your grace to us. Strengthen our faithfulness to you and to all who are precious in your sight. We pray in the name of Christ, our Light. Amen.

(MOMENT FOR SILENT REFLECTION)

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON

*PASSING OF THE PEACEOne: Friends in Christ, the peace of Christ be with you. All: And also with you.(As those who have been reconciled to God, please exchange signs of peace and reconciliation with your neighbors using the words, "the peace of Christ be with you." And the response, "and also with you.")

*GLORIA PATRI Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,World without end. Amen, Amen.

RESPONDING TO GOD’S WORD

*Affirmation of Faith: We Do Believe We believe in God whose light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. We believe that in Bethlehem there was born a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. We believe in the Word who has become incarnate, our very flesh and blood, yet full of grace and truth. We believe in the blessed appearing of the salvation of our God, that is for the happiness of all people. We believe in his name as Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of peace;of the increase of his rule and of his unique peace, there will be no end. The zeal of the God of hosts will do this.

As of November 1, additional payments totaling $68,941 have been applied to our mortgage principle. Our projected mortgage balance in June 2022 has been reduced to $602,968. Jerry estimates that we have saved over $8,000 in interest payments on our current loan, and over $27,000 in interest payments on the new mortgage – that’s over $35,000 that will fund mission and ministry instead of finance charges! Thank you for your generous support of this effort. We are currently 44% of the way towards meeting our goal of lowering the mortgage balance to $500,000.
