Waiting ListWeekly Study Guide (Psalm 130) July 28th 2019
This guide, beginning with Sunday’s main Bible passage, provides additional study & reflection for group discussions and/or personal
study. Let these thoughts help you learn from God’s Word so you can thrive in Christ!
1) Why is Psalm 130’s author suffering? Does his suffering end? How does he claim to find hope?
2) List all the assumptions or claims Psalm 130’s author makes about God. How do these beliefs help him? Help us?
3) What do Proverbs 6:27, Romans 5:12, and Hebrews 12:5-6 teach us about the effects of sin? How can knowing this help?
4) In 1st John 1:8-9, what is the best response to our own sin? How does this compare with Psalm 130?
5) What sins have harmed you recently? What can you confess to God and receive His forgiveness for? Pray, ask, and trust Him!
6) Your “waiting list”: what things do you need to patiently trust God for now? Write a few ideas down, and then pray!
