An Epistle from Paul: “Set Free By His Resurrection! On Resurrection Sunday a preacher brought an old rusty bird cage to the pulpit. He said, “I want to use this cage to illustrate the point of my message this morning.” It seems just a few days prior to this Sunday the preacher came across a young man who was carrying this rusty old bird cage. Inside the cage were two frightened sparrows he had caught. The preacher asked the boy, “Say there, what do you have there?” The boy responded, ”Oh, I have some birds.” “What are you going to do with them?” asked the preacher. “Oh, mess around with them, tease them or something like that.” “When you get tired of them, what are you going to do?” asked the preacher. “Well, I got a couple of cats at home and they like birds. I think I’ll just let them have ‘em.” The preacher said his heart went out to the little birds so he made the little guy an offer. “How much do you want for the birds?” Surprised, the boy said, “Mister, you don’t want these birds. They ain’t no good.” The preacher said, “How about two bucks?” The boy said, “Sold.” Exchanging the cage for the two bills, the boy headed off well pleased with this transaction. After the boy was out of sight, the preacher walked a good distance away, opened the little cage door and said, “There now, be gone. You are free!” The preacher then said, “Now you know the story behind this cage. Let me use it to illustrate how Satan had you and me trapped and frightened; but Jesus came and paid it all so that we would be free. In His resurrection, we truly have been set free!” When we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, not just on Resurrection Sunday, but every Sunday, we celebrate the fact that we have been set free by His resurrection. An Epistle from Paul:

“Set Free By His Resurrection! – On Resurrection Sunday a preacher brought an old rusty bird cage to the pulpit. In His resurrection, we truly have been set free!”

When we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, not just on Resurrection Sunday, but every Sunday, we celebrate the fact that we have been set free by His resurrection. Amen and amen!!!

Van Update! We have just found a solid lead in the purchase of a good van. We wanted to give you a visiual as to the seating arrangement we are looking at and a visual as to how the van might look. There has been a lot of inaccurate information out there concerning fifteen passenger vans. Major car companies continue to make these… They simply must be driven with respect and with the understanding that they are a truck frame not a car… We will keep you posted on the lastest possibility we have found!

Architect Drawings! We are in the process of securing an architect to draw up proposed drawings to submit to the city planner. This is all necessary to see if what we hope and want to add on to the present facility is both feasible

and allowable. To put it in simplier terms, we are but in the beginning stages to see if adding on to our present building on the present lot is feasible, allowable and wise. We are but in the very

beginning stages of this process. We recognize the need is present – more classroom space, more restrooms, more fellowship area and more storage. Do keep this process in your prayers!!! (by no means an exhaustive list)

Military Personnel: Zachary Claywell, Austin Brasher, and Stephen Watts…Recovering and Other Matters: Doris Childers, Betty and Cronley Teater, Jeanie Laubauch, Emma Grace Mills, Reva Cole, Dan Swihart, Monte Rieger, Dottie Campbell, Pam Kauslick, Jack/John Rowell, Connie Moore, Barry Rieger, David Ramey, Connie Martin, Emma Sartain, Daryl McKee, Gary Stevenson, Jana Jo Carpenter, Joe and Margaret Worrell, Herman Kelly, Rick Watts, Darlene Dane, Dick Mitchell, Angela Remley, Thurman Hackenbrach, Darcy Robinson, Martha Gabbard, Sonia Brown…Dealing With Cancer: Dalene McIntire, Rita Culp, Judy Riley, George Collins, Chuck Paul, and Evert Synder, Lonnie Gamble…

Keep This Before Us!Every first Wednesday of the month we are meeting at the church building with the youth. Keep these youth groups in mind and in your prayers. Our young people and their friends need to

know God and His Word better and better. These youth group gatherings are geared toward that very thing. We pray that more youth will come giving us the opportunity to teach them of Christ!!

Time Marches On!None of us like to think of it, but especially those of us who are older than dirt -- time is running out… What do you have on your list to accomplish prior to your entering eternity? Rather than just having activities and things to do, here at the Lord’s Church we

want to have events and gatherings that emphasize the significance of eternity and that we all are well aware of the fact the clock is ticking. May those around us see us realizing the clock is ticking!!!
