•WHAT IS THE SAC OPEN STUDIO TOUR? The Sac Open Studio Tour is the largest event of it’s kind in our region. This September, Verge Center for the Arts will present the 10th annual, month-long art event. The event brings thousands of people on an intimate tour of hundreds of art studios.
•WHAT IS THE SAC OPEN STUDIOS NIGHTCAP EVENT? The Nightcap is an evening event that celebrates the power and beauty of diverse artist collaborations. This event happens Saturday, September 12th after the studio tour is wrapped up. The location, beatnik studios, has a perfect central location for attendees of the tour, and the space is well suited for experimental creative explorations.
•WHO’S INVOLVED IN THE NIGHTCAP EVENT? The event will feature classical ballet performances from Capitol Dance Project, aerial silk dance performances from Aerial Evolution. The dancers will be supported by live classical cello music from Alison Wonderland and contemporary music from local band Honyock. In addition to the performances, the space will feature a special �ne art sculptural installation by Robert Ortbal. There will be a charitable bar with proceeds going back to the Verge Center for the Arts. The event is being organized and managed by the helpful team of beatniks at Beatnik Studios.
•WHAT IS THE REACH OF THIS EVENT? This is a unique signature event of the Sac Open Studios Tour. The Nightcap event will have strategic placement and positioning in the Sac Open Studios Tour Guide. The guide is a 40 page full color magazine with a print run of 20,000 copies and an estimated readership of 35,000 people. An estimated 10,000 people attended the event last year.
•WHERE DOES THE SPONSORSHIP MONEY GO? We will be happy to meet our minimum goal, but we will be thrilled if we raise enough funds to drive future programs! The artists and performers will be the �rst paid at this event. We have a minimum budget of $3300 for the performers and the event hard costs. Any funds in addition to our minimum will be shared 5 ways between the 2 dance groups, the music director, the Verge Center for the Arts and Beatnik.
•WHY IS THIS EVENT IMPORTANT? While many arts programs are struggling to �nd funding, events like this one are essential for cross pollinating our creative community, and paving the way for the next generation of patrons. This event will introduce these artists and their supporters to new ideas and new audiences, while providing them a small boost in funding for potential future events and colaborations.
