Dear sisters and brothers in Christ, There is the story of a young boy who was upset about his dog being lost and other questions for which they were no answers. So he went to his dad to voice his confusion and hurt. His dad put his son on his lap and soon the child began to pour out his story and his heart to his dad. The dad didn’t say anything, he just listened as his son’s story eventually turned from words into tears. The father listened silently and let his son get it all out. Eventually the son became exhausted from the telling of his story and the expression of his feelings. His father didn’t offer any answers for his son’s pain, but holding him in his arms and listening to him was what his son needed at that moment. That’s what fathers are for – holding their children and listening to them. That is what prayer is about. Going to our heavenly Father and being held by Him as we pour out our hearts to Him. He listens to our prayers and His loving presence brings peace and comfort to our souls. Why don’t you take a moment now and unburden your heart to your Father. Happy Father’s Day!

Surely Goodness & Mercy Days are for 2017-18 6th-8th graders! We will be hands on with Acts of Mercy in the mornings and have fun activities in the afternoons. The cost is $25.00 per day. The day begins with Mass. (Drop off at 8:30 @ the Church) and ends at 4:00 (Pick up @ the PAC)

CELEBRATE RECOVERY A Celebrate Recovery testimony is a personal story of struggle and victory presented by someone who has completed the CR 12 Step program. Hearing someone’s testimony lets us know that we are not alone with our burdens. Portugal this year. Several things have proven to be challenging, including the serious illness of Fr. Fredy's mother in Colombia. And we just did not have enough participants. Full refunds are being processed and all

registered pilgrims will receive a full refund.

ENROLLMENT AND FINANCIAL AID We are beginning our enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year. If you need financial aid to attend, it is time to begin the application process. 1. Go to shswr.org 2. Applications are accepted after March 1st and will be considered on a first come, first served basis based on available funding to support the demonstrated need. SWIMMING LESSONS OFFERED BY

MRS. JEAN HORAN Swimming lessons will be offered this June for ages

4 and up (including teens and adults). The cost is $160 for ten lessons. Parents are required to sign a release

UN EXCELENTE CUENTISTA

En el Evangelio de hoy, se nos presenta a Jesús como un excelente cuentista. A él le gustaba contar parábolas como una forma para comparar esto de aquello. En muchas de las parábolas, Jesús revela quien es Dios al comparar la naturaleza o acciones de Dios con alguna situación conocida de su audiencia. En la parábola de la semilla de mostaza, Jesús proclama una verdad maravillosa e irrefutable. Su pequeño grupo de discípulos, tan insignificantes como ellos se hubieran sentido, un día producirán un reinado poderoso cuyo crecimiento lo comenzó Dios. Las semillas de este reino fueron plantadas por Dios y es Dios quien cosechará el fruto producido por esas semillas. No se puede predecir que tanto crecerá el Reino de Dios. Debemos confiar el trabajo de las manos del dueño, así como nosotros, al igual que la semilla de mostaza, crece y crece.
