Tickets $20.00 at the door
Join us this Saturday in the gym for two very special people who are part of our community. Spaghetti
dinner, silent auction, raffle, DJ music and live music by Batteryboy. Beer and wine will be available for
purchase.
Thank you to the many volunteers that organized this event.
Friday, May 18th Benefit Kick-off
The students and staff will have a Pink/Black non-uniform day on Friday for Michael and
Rhonda. Pink is the designated color for breast cancer and black is the designated color
for melanoma. Minimum donation is $1.00.
The money will be donated to the Kuchinski/Mulcahy benefit.
Work agreements have not been issued to staff yet, but will be soon.
We have two teachers that are retiring: Nancy Tempel and Pat Greshwalk.
Nancy Tempel - Mrs. Tempel has taught 3rd grade at Sacred Heart for 18 years and 28 years overall as
a teacher. Nancy is looking forward to her retirement to spend time traveling to bed & breakfasts with her
husband Tom. She is also busy in helping with the preparation for her son Chris’ wedding in June. Her
son, Mike, was married last year.
Pat Greshwalk - Mrs. Greshwalk has taught middle school social studies and religion for 16 years andhas been involved with peer mediation, student council, quiz bowl, and Youth Summit. She decided to
retire this year to spend more time with her four children. She is looking forward to visiting her daughter
in Australia, and to the birth of another grandchild in October.
A big thank you to Nancy and Pat, both who have been such a huge part of our community. We will miss
both of you!
We will have a new addition to our SHCS community. Mr. David Heintz and wife Anna are expecting
another baby in July! Big brother, James, is looking forward to a baby sister.

Volunteers - We are in need of the following:
1. Help set up the gym Friday, May 18th 7:00 p.m. Looking for 6-8 volunteers to help set up the gym and Marian room
for the benefit.
2. Take down the gym, Monday, May 21st at 7:00 a.m. AND set up the stage for the spring concert.
Please email or call Karen Bursey if you are able to help with set-ups.

3. Track and Field Day- Friday, June 1st Grades 1-4Tuesday, June 5 Grades 5-7.

Tuition for 2011-2012
Just a reminder that all tuition payments are expected to be paid in full by now. If this is not possible, please communicate
with Ms. Bursey. We rely on prompt payment of tuition. Thank you to families for making your payments on time. We
really appreciate it. Report cards will be withheld for any delinquent tuition.
Our 2011-2012 yearbooks are all sold out! Thank you to the 7th and 8th grade committee for their hard work
designing our yearbook and advisors Mrs. Braasch and Mrs. Kohlmeyer for their expertise.
Band news
Are you interested in joining the Sacred Heart band next year? There will be an informational meeting for all NEW
students/parents on May 24 from 5:00-5:45pm in the music room. Register for band/get an instrument/or just come for
information and to ask questions. Stay after the meeting and watch the band concert at 6:30pm in the gym!
Congratulations to two 7th graders - Hannah Walker and Ken Williams
Both students will be honored at the Totino-Grace luncheon on Thursday, May 17th for his/her leadership, service, and
academic excellence. Both are definitely role models to their classmates. Congratulations.
Sacred Heart Athletics
I want to thank everyone who attended the annual Athletic Banquet on April 28. The event is a wonderful experience eve
year for our student athletes and their families! We should recognize Mary & Dave Schneider for coordinating the 2012
banquet dinner, volunteers and guest speaker. And thank you goes out to the Beaner family for their video production
capturing pictures from each league-sponsored activity. We got to witness 2012 Coach Joe's legendary pre-game PEP TAL
rivaling 1980's Coach Brooks. If you missed the banquet, you can order a copy of the DVD by contacting Greg Beaner.
Thank you to all volunteer coaches who got up to talk about their team's 2011-12 experiences and successes.
The year was enhanced with the volunteer coordinator Mrs. Jandl and gym supervisor Mrs. McCormick. Thank you for
your VERY generous gifts to me as I complete the year as your athletic director position. I have enjoyed working with eve
athlete and family.
UPCOMING EVENTS: The boys baseball team is finishing up regular season play this coming week with a Tuesday gam
at Maranatha School. The play-offs begin the week of May. 21

you have been contacted and they are ready for pick-up in the school office. $10 will be collected at time of pick up.
Library —Please return all library books. Many students have books out!
Lost & Found-Please check our lost and found for winter clothing, jackets, uniform clothing, lunch boxes, etc. Anything
left after school is out for the summer will be donated.

VOCATION ESSAY WINNERS! Congratulations to 8th graders Kadi Luseni and Zach Fimon on their award winning essays on how theirtrip to a seminary and convent affected their thoughts about religious vocations. Kadi won first place and a $25.00 award for her essay on her
visit to the St. Peter Claver Monastery, and Zach won second place and $15.00 for his essay on the St. John Vianney Seminary. The visits andcontest are sponsored by the North Side Serra Club.
Donald’s Uniform Sale-Wednesday, May 30th 2:00-5:30 p.m. School gymThis date is the only time Donald’s Uniform Company will be at Sacred Heart Catholic School for parents to purchase uniforms. They will havea large stock of uniforms to try on. Come see the new red logo shirt!
Summer Care-Kids ClubAre you looking for school-age summer child care that is safe, fun, friendly and affordable? Kids Club is available from June 11-August 24 from7:00-6:00 p.m. for children ages 5-12 years old. Full and part time available.
School Advisory Committee Members needed for next yearSubmit your name by Wednesday, May 23rdAre you interested in becoming a committee member? We are now accepting names for the School Advisory Committee for next year. Thepurpose of the committee is to assist the principal in the governance of the school. The areas in which the committee has responsibility are
planning, policy development, finances, marketing, and public relations. This is a three year commitment and we meet the 3rd Wednesday of thmonth during August-May. Two new members are needed. If you are interested, please let me know or contact a SAC representative. Check out our web page listed under School Information-School Advisory for more information.
