Dear Sacred Heart Families:
You may have noticed another adult outside at drop off. Mike Billquist start-ed this past Monday, September 24 as our Director of Facilities Management & Planning. Mike will be overseeing our facilities as well as providing direc-tion and planning for our short-term and long-term campus needs. Mike and his family have been members of Sacred Heart Parish for the past 13 years and are very involved in our parish community. Tim Marino remains a part of our facilities team overseeing the day to day maintenance and cleaning needs of our campus. When you get a chance, welcome Mike to our parish staff team!
Catholic Schools are unique in our structure. The state views each school as its own school district. The Archdiocese provides us with a school office to support our managerial needs. Most schools, like we are, are an import-ant part of parish ministry. It is really beautiful how it all works together! We can’t emphasize enough that we are partnering with our parents who are the first educators of our children. I love having the listening sessions to get to know you better and understand the dreams we are working togeth-er to make come true. I know many of you weren’t able to make either of the sessions offered, but please always feel free to contact me with thoughts on how Sacred Heart of Jesus can continue to grow in spirit!
Joyfully in Christ,
Kathy Rhodes

RectoRy MealsThank you for supporting Fr. Pat & Fr. Viet in this beautiful act of service by providing them a meal twice a month. Due to our priests busy daily and evening schedules, we ask families to consider donating gift cards to local restau-rants which allows our priests great flexibility while trying to get lunch or dinner in between round-the-clock ap-pointments and responsibilities. To sign up, click the fol-lowing link: rectorymeallink.

Brown Bottle Gift BasketsParents, it is that time of year again for the planning of Sacred Heart’s biggest fundraiser, the Brown Bottle Dinner and Auction, which will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018. The gift baskets have been a huge success in the past thanks to all of your donations. Our goal again this year is to make the baskets even bigger and better. Each grade level has been assigned a theme. You are invited to purchase items (big or small) based on your child’s grade level/theme.
• Kindergarten – Boys and/or girls Legos
• First Grade – Boys and/or girls sleepover
• Second Grade – Gift cards
• Third Grade – Family Game Night
• Fourth Grade – KU and/or K-State
• Fifth Grade – Movie Night (No rated R movies, please!)
• Sixth Grade – KC Sports (Chiefs, Sporting KC, Royals)
• Seventh Grade – Monetary donations for the Girls just want to have fun. This basket was a huge success last year! It will have a variety of highly desirable items such as Kendra Scott, Vera Bradley, Vineyard Vines, Sephora, Starbucks, etc.
If you do not have time to shop, we can do the shopping for you. Please click on the following link https://shoj.wufoo.com/forms/zg9d8dt09j3gxo/ and complete the form. All donations must be received by October 19, 2018, or the donat-ed items will not be included in the gift baskets.
The gift baskets will be on display beginning October 22, 2018 and all students will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets beginning October 29, 2018. The tickets will be $1 each or 25 tickets for $20. More information, along with the ticket order form, will be sent at a later date. If you have any questions, please contact, Kim Dreiling at [email protected], Andrea Meidinger at [email protected] or Brittni Jakuboski at [email protected]. Thank you so much for your time and donations.

We are excited to announce that Early Bird tickets for the 48th annual Brown Bottle Auction are avail-able to purchase! Single tickets are available until Oc-
tober 15 for $60. After October 15, tickets will be available for $75 until the event is sold out. TicketsHere
The 48th annual Brown Bottle event will have a few slight differences from previous years. Some featured changes are a later start time (doors open at 7:00 p.m.); there will not be a complete dinner menu and food service, however, there will be heavy appetizers and a dessert station, along with beer, Cuban-themed specialty cocktails, and wine. All food and beverages are included with the price of admission. There will also not be pre-arranged assigned seating this year. Guests are encouraged to grab chairs and tables on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Brown Bottle committee is currently accepting donations and contributions for the silent and live auctions, and looking for some additional volunteers to help support the event. If you have time, talents, or items to offer, please contact the Brown Bottle committee via email at [email protected].
