From the Vocations Office

A Prayer for Vocations: O Holy Spirit, Spirit of wisdom and divine love, impart Your knowledge, understanding, and counsel to youth that they may know the vocation wherein they can best serve God. Give them courage and strength to follow God's holy will. Guide their uncertain steps, strengthen their resolutions, shield their chastity, fashion their minds, conquer their hearts, and lead them to the vineyards where they will labor in God's holy service. Amen.

Our Lady of Fatima Rosary- The Five First Saturdays Devotion Our Lady of Fatima Rosary is recited every first Saturday of the month at 4:15 pm at Sacred Heart

Here’s how to precisely fulfill the Five First Saturdays Devotion as requested by Our Lady of Fatima. Our Lady of Fatima Promises all the Graces Necessary for Heaven if a Catholic finishes the Five First Saturdays Devotion. During her July apparition at Fatima, Our Lady said to Lucia, “I shall come to ask... that on the First Saturday of every month, Communions of reparation be made in atonement for the sins of the world. Tell them that I promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation all those who, in order to make reparation to me, on the First Saturday of five successive months, go to confession, receive Holy Communion, say five decades of the Rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour, meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary.” To those who faithfully follow Our Lady’s requests for the Five First Saturdays, she has made a wonderful promise which she, as Mediatrix of All Graces, will certainly fulfill: “I promise to assist at the hour of death with the graces necessary for salvation.”

Eucharistic Adoration—A Weekly Mini-vacation

Eucharistic Adoration is open to all and is held every Tuesday from 8 am to 7 pm. Nothing is needed to do this but an open heart to Jesus Christ. You may come at anytime and stay for any length of time. This week, one of our adorers shares her experiences in attending Eucharistic Adoration. I can tell you that adoration has been a great source of com-fort to me all through my husband’s illness and beyond. I did ask God to grant that he be allowed to die a peaceful death at home according to His wishes and that did hap-pen. When I spend my hour each week, I tend more often than not to sit quietly and reflect on how lucky I am. It has been an ongoing source of strength for me and often an op-portunity to quietly shed a few tears which I find oddly ca-thartic. For me, adoration is my weekly mini vacation from the problems we all deal with everyday. I know I can lay it all on Him and that He hears me and that is enough.

If you are interested in becoming an adorer, or would like to know more about Eucharistic Adoration, you may contact Joann Di Liberto at 610 932 8962 or you may leave your contact information in the steel box in the Narthex, next to the Statue of the Sacred Heart, and Joann will contact you. Presently, we are in need of an adorer for 8 am and 1 pm.

Several of our graduates met on Thursday, June 15th for the launch of a weather balloon. The class had been working on the project for several weeks at the end of the school year, however, the launch had to be pushed back several

times due to the weather conditions. The students were able to launch the balloon from Strasburg Community Park in the morning, track its coordinates and recover it later that day in Nottingham. Our eighth grade class has been able to work on the weather balloon project for the last several years because of a grant from the Chester County

Regional Education Services under the direction of their teacher and a parent volunteer, Mr. Gene Thompson. Mr. Thompson meets with the class on a weekly basis to design the payload, track the weather and plan the launch. The

students will then analyze the atmospheric data that was collected.

We are still accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year. Please contact us to schedule a tour. Financial Aid is available. Call our office at 610-932-3633 or email [email protected].

Saturday. May 13th the Sacred Heart Com-

munity came together for a public Rosary Rally. This was one of thousands of rallies that took place across the United States that day. Thank you to all participants who prayed offering reparation for the sins and offenses committed against the Im-maculate Heart of Mary and for the healing of our country.

“Pray the rosary every day to obtain peace for the world and the end of the war.”
