Welcome Home to HealingOnce again our parish will engage in a diocesan effort to encourage

a return to the Sacrament of Reconciliation called Welcome Home. Every parish in the diocese will ensure that at least one priest-

confessor will be available every Monday in Lent to celebrate Reconciliation. Catholics in the Diocese of Paterson, especially those who have

been away from the Church, are invited to experience God’s healing love and forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Catholic churches in Morris, Sussex and Passaic Counties will be open for Confession every Monday beginning March 2nd through 30th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm.Installation of Rev.

On Fridays, during Lent, we will once again celebrate Stations of the Cross. Stations will be celebrated in English at 7:00 pm at Sacred Heart, beginning Friday, February 28th. Hope to see you all there “Walking the Way of the Cross.” Lectors/Eucharistic Ministers Needed

We are looking for Lectors and Eucharist Ministers. The Lector reads aloud the Word of God in such a way as to enrich the hearers, and he/she helps to make God present as the word is spoken.  It is an important task and not just for someone to "get up and read."  The Eucharistic Minister is entrusted with taking reverent care of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and of assisting the priest and deacon in distributing the Holy Eucharist to others. - Liturgical Guidelines in Dealing with the Coronavirus 

Due to the worsening situation with the coronavirus, prudence dictates that, until further notice, these precautions be taken in our parishes: 

The option of drinking the Precious Blood from the chalice is discontinued for the present time. 

During the Exchange of peace, worshipers should simply bow with respect to each other and not shake hands. 

Extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist should have available bottles of Purell or an equivalent hand sanitizer to use before and after the distribution of Communion. These bottles should be available in the sanctuary and/or sacristy for those who will distribute the Eucharist. This also applies to all liturgical ministers before and after Mass.

Parishioners should be encouraged not to attend Mass if they have the flu or similar symptoms. 

As more information becomes available, we will inform you immediately.

Lenten RegulationsAsh Wednesday marks the beginning of

Lent.  The following fasting and abstinence regulations are observed:

Abstinence from meat is observed on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and all the Fridays of Lent by all Catholics 14 years of age and older.

Fasting is observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday by all Catholics who are 18 years of age but not yet 59 years of age.  Those bound by this rule may take only one full meal.  Two smaller meals are permitted as necessary to maintain strength according to one's needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted.

The special Paschal fast and abstinence are observed on Good Friday and, where possible, on Holy Saturday.  On these days, Christians prepare themselves by these disciplines in anticipation of the renewal of their baptismal commitment on Easter.

Failure to observe individual days of penance is not considered serious, but failure to observe any penitential days at all or a substantial number of such

Debido a que la situación del Coronavirus a empeorado, es necesario tomar algunas medidas hasta que se nos notifique otra cosa. Debemos tomar las siguientes precauciones:

 -       La preciosa Sangre de Cristo no será ofrecida durante este tiempo.-       Durante el saludo de la paz es mejor hacer una pequeña reverencia, pero no estrechar manos. -       Es importante que los ministros extraordinarios tengan disponible desinfectante para distribuir la comunión. -       Si algún fiel experimenta síntomas que indiquen cualquier tipo de enfermedad contagiosa por favor permanecer en casa. Observancia de Cuaresma

El Miércoles de Ceniza marca el comienzo de la Cuaresma.  Duranter la cuaresma se observan las siguientes regulaciones de ayuno y abstinencia: • La abstinencia de la carne se observa el Miércoles de Ceniza, Viernes Santo, y todos los viernes de Cuaresma y obliga a los que han cumplido catorce años de edad y mayores.

• El ayuno es observado el Miércoles de Ceniza y Viernes Santo por todos los católicos que tienen 18 años de edad, pero aún no tienen 59 años de edad.  Aquellos obligados a observar el ayuno pueden tomar sólo una comida completa.  Se permiten dos comidas más pequeñas según sea necesario para mantener la fuerza de acuerdo con las necesidades de uno, pero no se permite comer alimentos sólidos entre comidas.

• El ayuno y la abstinencia se observan el Viernes Santo y, cuando es posible, el Sábado Santo.  En
