I heard this song for he first time in about 20 years today on the radio, and I was immediately back in 1976 riding in a car with my mom and brother on the way to the beach. Mom was only 27 back then.

Memories just pouring in. This was out in 76. I was about 7 and I remember, my pops had brain cancer. He would sit in the livingroom with the lights out because the light bothered him. He would sit and listen to this with his eyes closed and I just stared at him, knowing he was going. My mother and brothers were too scared to be in there but I knew I had to take in what I could of him, because he passed a year later. Aah. My pops. Chillin on the sofa in the livingroom in the projects.

Strange how songs can evoke memories from the past that arent always pleasant. This song brings up memories of starting 1st grade and a woman that was killed across the street from my grandparents. Her boyfriend killed her in a jealous rage and dumped her body in a dumpster. It was all in 1976.

I ran away from home in 76, with a guy who was older than me (7yrs older). I was 16 then. This song was ours in 76. Police eventually found me, I returned home to my family in late 77. My runaway sweetheart and I lived separate lives, married other partners, had children. Then 5 weeks ago I found my childhood runaway/sweetheart - after 36 yrs - boy we have some catching up to do. He is coming to stay at mine for a few days Aint life great xxx

In 76, he had a Ford Van, a Chateau, It had a mattress in the back but we were never on it. No, instead we spent the best 5 days of our lives in bed in Destin, Fl., Spring Break. I listened to this song first time in 1976.I was 16 and i was traveling through Spain with my cousin and some friends.We made camp on a hill in front of Toledo and there was this guy playing a guitar and singing this song to a girl.Ill never forget that.Im 52 now and i remember that moment as though i lived it yeasterday.Suzanne has been a friend of mine through the years.
