I want to welcome everyone back to the Spring semester of The Children’s Choir Ministry. I am excited about the musical “Sticky Notes and Bible Quotes” that The Music Makers and The Young Musicians will be preparing and what The Music Time choir will be sharing. A new feature in our weekly newsletter will be devotions dealing with “sticky situations” that kids face each day. These devotions are discussion starters for you and your child. Each week’s devotion includes a Sticky Situation, multiple choice options for how best to handle the situation, and a Scripture reference to show what the Bible says. An “ideal” answer will be given, the following week, with a list of questions that will help you discuss the situation with your kids. Through our musical preparation, we will reinforce what God says about such situations and look to the lyrics of the songs for the answers. Sticky Situations:

The Sick Classmate

Mr. Spencer, Lauren's

homeroom teacher, looks as though he

has something serious to tell the class.

As everyone settles into their seats,

Mr. Spencer tells the class that one of

their classmates, Emily, is very sick

and will be out of school for some

time. Mr. Spencer says the doctors

aren't quite sure what is wrong with

Emily. She was in the hospital for tests

last week, and her family is awaiting

the results.

Emily already has missed a week

of school. Lauren doesn't know Emily

very well, and although she feels badly

for Emily, she doesn't know what to

do.

Should she. . .

A. Not do anything because Emily

is not in her group of friends?

B. Decide it's too late to send

Emily a card-after all, she has been

gone a week already?

C. Call Emily's parents to ask if

she could bring Emily's

schoolwork to her?

D. Stay as far away from Emily as

possible because she doesn't want to

catch Emily's illness?

E. Send get-well cards to all her

friends "just in case"?

For help in knowing what Lauren

should do, read James 4:17.

The “ideal” answer will be given in

next week’s newsletter.

Welcome

back! I want to welcome

everyone back to the

Spring semester of

The Children’s Choir Ministry. I am

excited about the musical “Sticky

Notes and Bible Quotes” that The

Music Makers and The Young

Musicians will be preparing and what

The Music Time choir will be sharing.

A new feature in our weekly

newsletter will be devotions dealing

with “sticky situations” that kids face

each day. These devotions are

discussion starters for you and your

child. Each week’s devotion includes a

Sticky Situation, multiple choice

options for how best to handle the

situation, and a Scripture reference to

show what the Bible says. An “ideal”

answer will be given, the following

week, with a list of questions that will

help you discuss the situation with

your kids.

Through our musical preparation,

we will reinforce what God says about

such situations and look to the lyrics of

the songs for the answers.

I am looking forward to a great

Spring semester and what God will do.
