INTRODUCTION

SAF S.A. belongs to a holding with more than 30 years of experience in the

country. Since the beginning our allied position has allowed us to bring specific

tools to all the companies that want to give efficiency as well as to improve

their logistic network.

In our opinion the logistics contributes to the success of the company, delivering the product assured to our customers, in

time and at the right place. This concept is based on release valuable resources belonging to the companies of our

customers in order to assign these products to their strategic areas and improve through this action their operative

management in the meantime the company can reduce the operative costs. All this exposed without “Outsource” the

control of the process, in other words the flow supply administration, warehouse and commercial policies where

generally the operators doesn't give Value Added.

In the outsourcing of the traditional logistic operations, the limits of the logistic operator are not clear at all, since the

strategic activities inherent with the company which need to work as a whole can be mixed up with the other areas and

the logistic operator could not achieve this on his own.

That is why in the idea of SHARE LOGISTIC MANAGEMENT, SAF S.A. and his customer do work as a team, but

simultaneously we clearly define duties: The Logistic Customer Area is responsible for the design, execution and control

of the policies and strategies of the company (e.g. stock policies, flow of supplies management, control of distribution

net). At the same time SAF S.A. as a logistic operator is responsible for the fulfillment of the operation, for the stock

control which includes the responsibility over the customer's equity and the permanent search for improvement.

import activities in Buenos Aires City. The customers will dispatch the goods according to their needs.

o General Warehouse Service: We offer the use of our General Warehouses in Buenos Aires City and

Cordoba, where we stock the goods efficiently. We try to achieve the coordination with the logistic so that

o Foreign Trade Area Integral Assistance Service: This service aims at the position of all the tasks

concerning the building up and control of the paperwork of foreign trade, from the beginning of the

operation to its conclusion.

o Multimodal Transportation: This consist in the organization of the different means of transportation so as

to maximize the service and minimize the costs taking into account the characteristics of the good,

(packaging, volume) and delivery frequency. To achieve this we focus on the coordination and operation of:

• Land transportation

SUMMARY OF THE ADVANTAGES:

We tend to eliminate hidden costs during the removal of the containers from the port terminal this implies the

nationalization of the goods when they arrive at the port of Buenos Aires within five days to not have extra cost

(second movement). If you choose to send the goods to a Bonded warehouse, you will get the following

advantages:

•You will not have the extra cost avoiding the payment of the second movement and storage of containers in

port terminal.

• You will avoid the penalty in case of delay in the return of the empty container to port.

• There will be no expenses for placing and check out in case of RED CHANNEL.

• There will be no additional charges for transportation due to delay in the return of empty containers.

• You will be able to cancel the import duties within 45 days, and in four partial removals.

INTERNATIONAL CHARGE FOLLOW UP SERVICES

• Based in this concept SAF S.A. Offers an integral container follow up service (door to door) in export and

import operations, taking up the responsibility of coordinating the activities in the different steps to avoid

higher costs. The aims of the follow up door to door service in the import and export operations are:

It allows the follow up of container from the beginning to the end of the operation.

Daily update of the information. You can know the daily condition of the container

(location, charges, etc.).

You may check up if the budgeted costs coincide with the emerging costs of the

container.

On line follow up of the operation via Internet.

SUMMARY OF THE ADVANTAGES:

INTERNATIONAL CHARGE FOLLOW UP SERVICES

A tool of this management is the FOLLOW UP SOFTWARE. The Follow up Software includes two important

items:

• OPERATIVE FOLLOW UP: It allows the physical location of the container reporting the status and

location in the chain.

• COSTS FOLLOW UP: Clear up all the costs, distinguishing the ordinary from the extraordinary and

justifying them.

INTERNATIONAL CHARGE FOLLOW UP SERVICES

• Container Cranes: SAF S.A. is equipped with six container cranes which are available not only in SAF S.A.

headquarters, but also for the logistic projects and design of solutions. The operation “In House” is possible.

•Cooled Containers: SAF S.A. is equipped with forty cooled containers – capacity: fourty cubic feet used in

the different logistic operations. The advantages of the cooled containers are:

Temperature range: 25ºC to minus 24ºC.

They can be used for peak storage, storage on floor to avoid delay in the transportation, etc., or for the

movement of goods on standard trucks.

The characteristics and sizes of these containers are standard when the cooled containers are used, the

characteristics and volumes of the trucks vary.

The cool chain can be controlled efficiently since the shut cabinet has got a temperature indicator

which can be checked during the trip and be used in audits.

Goods insurance in warehouse as well as in transit.

Permanent security staff in all the warehouses where SAF S.A. operates.

SAF S.A. has got different software's, depending on the operation:

• System María. (Customs software)

• Management Bonded goods software.

• Logistic software.

• Customs dispatch software.

The logistic software includes: multistorage operation, transportation, permanent control over the goods,

radiofrequency management, step by step communication with our customers (J. D. Edwards, SAP, Peoplesoft,

etc.).

The system allows to have permanent on line information of the goods via Internet from the headquarters. This

provides information for the logistic operation.
