Health WRAP - Workshop to Raise Awareness of Prevent Time: 9.30am – 11.00amVenue: Field House, Bradford Royal Infirmary.Target audience: Hospital staff. A session around the Prevent agenda delivered
by the Local Authority lead.Details: The WRAP product provides 14 case studies from an Islamist
extremist and Far Right perspective of people that have been through the Prevent process, and those that have made referrals into Prevent. Modules include vulnerabilities, radicalisation, what to do, referrals and interventions. The product contains interactive exercises with the audience on vulnerabilities and behaviours.
l Attendees should leave WRAP sessions with the ability to notice concerns that may make individuals vulnerable to radicalisation, what a proportionate response looks like, as well as the confidence and ability to raise concerns when someone may be at risk.

Presenters: Lyn Gavin, Safeguarding Engagement Lead, DBS. Details: The session will help employers and managers of volunteers
understand their legal obligations and responsibilities. Our primary aim is to help those who work with vulnerable groups; including children understand their referral duty. These events will let you know about making safeguarding referrals to the DBS. They are targeted to those who have a responsibility for removing individuals from regulated activity posts where harm has, or may, occur.
The event will last approximately three hours, allowing for questions and the opportunity to comment. Topics covered include:
l Background to the DBS and legislative changes. l The statutory functions of the DBS. l Referral responsibilities and guidance. l Regulated activity, relevant conduct and risk of harm
definitions. l The DBS barring decision making processes and
considerations. Target audience: To attend you should be responsible for managing
safeguarding allegations. Do you: investigate safeguarding incidents; alert safeguarding leads in the local authority and or the police; have responsibility for any resulting disciplinary, or other such, action that leads to removal from your organisation and make referrals to the DBS? Feedback shows that delegates have a better understanding of legislative requirements after attending an event.

Safeguarding Week Bingo Running by requestThis is an interactive session led by the Safeguarding Voice Group to raise awareness of the different types of abuse and ways in which it can be reported and stopped. Prizes will be given to winners! We are available to come to your site; it is the responsibility of the organisations who make the booking with us to provide a suitable room/venue and support staff for any individuals who may require this.Target audience: Service users and support providers (volunteers and staff) who
work with adults at risk across Bradford. The session is suitable for various client groups. Each session can accommodate up to 15 players. Individuals could be supported by a support worker or carer to play and participate.
Date/time: Various dates and times available across the week. Contact us to check availability. The session should take about 1 ½ hrs depending on number of players.
Venue: We are available to come to your site; it is the responsibility of the organisations/providers who request us to visit their site to ensure they book a suitable venue/room and provide support staff for individuals who need it.
