• Safety violations reflected in contractor evaluations• Base improvements initiated to improve contractor safety• Contractor safety personnel are proactive to prevent accidents/injuries

• Initiated Safety Council to include BOS Contractor representation• PWD oversight on all construction project performed on the compound

Challenges & Initiatives
• Challenges• Language barriers are certainly a problem in Singapore
• especially with outside contractors, however these difficulties can be • somewhat alleviated with translators• Singapore regulations are not always compatible with U.S. regulations
• Initiatives• Strong Hazard Abatement Plan that identifies hazards around the compound
• and tracks them until they have been abated• NAVOSH Deficiency Notices are posted for all RACs 1, 2, and 3• The weekly zone inspection program is especially helpful in monitoring • projects being conducted around the compound
