• Remind your parents to store gasoline outside in red gasoline containers.

What is 9-1-1?

Immediately flush the burned area with cool,

clear water. Cool continuously for 15–20 minutes.

Do not apply ointments to wounds. These trap

the heat inside the skin and may cause infections.

When you call 9-1-1, a dispatcher will need information

about the emergency. Answer their questions the best

you can. Quick response depends upon the information

you provide. Stay calm and speak clearly.

9-1-1 is the telephone number to call 24 hours a

day for fire, police, or medical help.
