Purifier Class I Safety Enclosures and Purifier HEPA FilteredEnclosures protect you and your laboratory environment. They offeran economical alternative to Class II laminar flow cabinets whenyour applications do not require product protection.

Purifier Class I Enclosures protect the user from agents thatrequire Biosafety Level 1, 2 or 3 containment but no productprotection. These enclosures include an ultraviolet light that maybe used in conjunction with surface disinfection to ensure thoroughdecontamination. The UV light is turned on only while the enclosureis unattended, to avoid personnel exposure to UV rays.

Purifier HEPA Filtered Enclosures, which do not include a UV light,protect the user from hazardous chemical powders, dust and aller-gens in diverse applications ranging from screening suspiciousmail to blending dry chemicals.

For applications involving odor-generating materials, Purifier Class Iand HEPA Filtered Enclosures may be outfitted with an accessoryTrace Odor Carbon Filter to trap nuisance organic, formaldehyde orammonia vapors. When connected to the accessory CanopyConnection and ducted outside to a remote blower or house exhaust,Purifier Class I and HEPA Filtered Enclosures may be used with fume-generating materials or agents that have been treated with toxicchemicals or radionuclides as an adjunct to research. These canopy-ducted enclosures have the added benefit of eliminating nuisanceodors. Use of acids, which would corrode the internal blower withinthese enclosures, is prohibited. The Purifier Horizontal Clean Bench protects yourwork. It is the ISO Class 5 work station of choice toprotect materials that do not generate harmful aerosolsor vapors, yet require a particulate-free environment.Suitable applications for the bench include plant tissueculture research, media preparation, electronic partinspection, syringe filling, medical device assembly andparenteral drug formulation.

Because air from the work area is dispersed directlyinto the laboratory, Purifier Horizontal Clean Benchesshould never be used in conjunction with biohazardousmaterial, toxins or radionuclides. You and your safetyofficer must carefully assess the risk associated with anyoperation performed in a clean bench. Purifier HorizontalClean Benches are offered in 3', 4' and 6' widths. During operation, room air is drawn through a prefilter in the topof the bench to trap large particles. Then, the air flows through a99.99% efficient HEPA filter and is projected horizontally across theentire work area. This HEPA-filtered air minimizes cross contaminationin the work area and provides a particulate-free work environment.

Unique to the Purifier Horizontal Clean Bench is its double HEPA filterseal. The primary gasket seals the upstream side of the filter to pre-vent unfiltered air from leaking into the work area. The secondary gas-ket at the front of the HEPA filter seals the downstream side of thefilter frame. The area between these two gaskets is maintained undernegative pressure. Should a leak occur at the primary HEPA filtergasket, the contaminated air is immediately recaptured and refiltered.

Purifier Vertical Clean Benches protect your workfrom particulate contamination. Using a 99.99% effi-cient supply HEPA filter, Purifier Vertical Clean Benchesmaintain ISO Class 5 conditions (formerly Class 100) inthe work area. Appropriate applications for Clean Benchesinclude plant tissue culture, media plate preparation,electronics inspection, medical device assembly and IVsolution preparation.

Because Purifier Vertical Clean Benches do not provideprotection to the user, they should not be used inconjunction with biohazardous material, toxins orradionuclides. You and your safety officer must carefullyassess the risk associated with any operation performedin a clean bench.

Purifier Vertical Clean Benches are offered in 2', 3' and 4'widths. Built-in options include a UV light for secondarydecontamination, bi-fold doors for complete closure anda Guardian Airflow Monitor to monitor downflow velocityand HEPA filter loading.

During operation, room air is drawn through a prefilter in the top ofthe cabinet to trap large particles. Then, the air flows through a99.99% efficient HEPA filter and is projected vertically over the workarea. Purifier Filtered PCR Enclosures are vertical cleanbenches that protect your work. Available in 2', 3' and4' widths, they provide a controlled environment inwhich to perform polymerase chain reaction experiments.ISO Class 5 air is constantly projected vertically downover the work area, minimizing the risk of cross contami-nation of samples.

Purifier Filtered PCR Enclosures do not provide protectionto the user and should not be used in conjunction withbiohazardous material, toxins or radionuclides. You andyour safety officer must carefully assess the risks associ-ated with any operation performed in the PCR enclosure.

The variable digital timer provides UV light exposurecontinuously or in user-selected increments of 5, 10, 15,30, 60, 120 or 240 minutes to deactivate DNA and RNAcontaminants. When the timer expires, the UV lightautomatically switches off in preparation for the nextexperiment.

During operation, room air is drawn through a prefilter in the topof the cabinet to trap large particles.
