COMMUNICATION IN A GENERATIVE CULTURE

• Trust, no fear to speak up - constructive criticisms, not destructive, open

• Supervisors show interest , not brush aside communication initiated

• Set clear standards, instructions & confirm understanding (paraphrase)

• Right amount of info is better than huge amount, & relevancy

• Conducive communication techniques (no yelling, not arrogant, not dictatorial, cordial, patient)

ACTIVITY: GETTING THE RIGHT INFORMATION

√ Turn to pg 46. Work with your table group. In your groups ponder one of the instructions:

1. Your wife called : “Honey, please pick me up.” 2. DSV said : “Operator, please close the valve.” 3. DSV instructed : “Pressure Test the Line." 4. Supervisor said: "Clean the mud tank.”

√ Think about the clarity of these instructions and discuss: What critical information did you or your team

discover was missing? What are the possible implications or

consequences?
