AARP Driving Class The AARP Driving class is held the 1st Friday of each month, 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (July 6th) with a half hour lunch. The cost is $15 for those with an AARP Membership and $20.00 for those without. Bring your driver’s license and please be on time. Lunch can be reserved at the front desk. Ted Talks TED is a nonpartisan nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today offers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues in more than 110 languages. University of Utah Sports Science Students Tuesday & Thursday, 12-1:30 p.m. It’s not too late to take advantage of the University of Utah Sports Science students personalized exercise opportunities. Meet in the weight room. They will work with you one-on-one to reach your goals. This is a great learning opportunity for them. Zumba Class Thursdays, 3:45-4:45 p.m. The design of this class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat and leave empowered and feeling strong. Live Music & Dancing With The Imperial Rhythm Boys Tuesday, July 31st. 2:00-4:00 p.m. They Play Rockabilly, Jump Blues, Jazz Standards & Pop. Refreshments Provided. Donations welcome. Advisory Committee Activities July 12th: Chili’s Festival Meet at Chili’s (668 E. 400 S.) at 5:00 p.m. Enjoy a delicious dinner and have a portion of your bill donated back to Tenth East. July 27th: Bingo Bash Friday, July 27th 1:30-3:30 p.m. Come play Bingo and win some great prizes. The Advisory Committee has been busy out in the community gathering prizes from various businesses. It is Free to play. There will be a 4 card maximum. Computer Help By Appointment Thursday 9:00-11:00 a.m. Dave Crotchett will be offering one half hour computer help sessions on Thursdays. To take advantage of this opportunity, you must sign up at the front desk to reserve a spot. Murray Park Lunch Concert Tuesday, July 17th Sign up to join us for a lunch concert in Murray Park. The entertainment will be Bluegrass music with the Red Desert Ramblers. The concert lasts for one hour. There are only 12 seats available on the bus so don’t wait to sign-up. We will leave the center at 11:15 a.m. and return around 1;30 p.m. You are welcome to drive yourself and bring your own lunch. If you would like to ride the bus or reserve a sack lunch you will need to sign up at the front desk no later than Tuesday, July 10th. The cost is $4.00. Integrative Hands On Healing Tuesday , July 3,10, and 17 11:15 a.m. Hands-on-Healing is a gentle, non-evasive touch therapy that works with the body’s subtle energy field-stimulating it’s inherent ability to heal itself. By using advanced techniques in a heart-centered and intentional way, energetic blocks can be cleared and balance restored. You will need to sign up for this service and there is a suggested donation of $15.00. Astrology Friday 1:30 p.m. Just bring your birthdate and birth time. Richard Daly will show you how to map out your personality profile. Volunteer Recognition A Hit! Special Thanks To…. The volunteer recognition party was well attended and enjoyed by all. We would like to take this time to give a special thanks to local restaurants and businesses that made generous donations to our event. They are as follows: Rodizzio Grill, Jimmy Johns, Litza’s Piz- za, Papa Murphy’s Paradise Bakery, Banbury Cross, The Sizzler, The DoDo, PF Changs, Oasis Café, B & G’s The Olive Garden, The Cookie Tree, Taffy Town, Wal-Mart, R&R BBQ, Blake’s Gourmet, Sweets, Chuck-A-Rama, Swig & Sweets, Cold Stone Creamery, Sprouts, Starbucks, PeiWei, McDonalds, FANZZ, Utah Jazz, and The Nut Garden. Everyone in attendance walked away stuffed to the gills and they all won a door prize. Keep these businesses in mind and if you visit any of them in the near future be sure to thank them for donating to our event. We also want to thank the staff. They worked hard to make sure the party went off without a hitch. The center will be closed July 4th and July 24th for America’s Birthday and Pioneer Day. Summer Buffet Wednesday, July 18th 11:30 a.m. Join us for our Summer Buffet in celebration of Tenth East’s 56th year in serving those 60 and older. The menu is as follows: BBQ Chicken Leg & Thigh, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Roll, Strawberry Shortcake, Watermelon and Milk. Please sign up at the front desk by Tuesday, July 10th. There is a suggested donation of $3.00 for those 60 and older and it is $7.00 Father’s were treated to a Belly Dancer!
