The benefit of enrolling for this learnership is that you will be able to apply your financial or accounting knowledge in a Sage Evolution Premium environment. By completing this learnership, you will become a certified Sage Evolution Premium Expert. This certification will lead to possible career opportunities within the Sage Evolution Premium business scope, such as:

Sage Evolution Support Consultant. Sage Evolution Pre-Sales Consultant. Sage Evolution Implementation Consultant.

The Sage Evolution Premium Learnership will work as follows:

Entrance Requirements

Learners need to meet all of the following prerequisites before enrolling for this Sage Evolution Premium Learnership:

1. Must be a South African citizen and be able to present a valid Identification Document. 2. Financial or Accounting qualification, ranging from:

National Diploma ((2 year / 3 year diploma) NQF Level 5). Bachelor’s Degree ((3 year degree) NQF Level 6 or higher).

3. Achieved an average pass mark of 70% or higher for the abovementioned qualifications. If you are not yet competent in the required prerequisites outlined above, you must first complete the relevant qualifications before enrolling for this learnership.

Screening Process

To be enrolled for this learnership you have to adhere to the entrance requirements outlined in the previous section. You will be required to complete a few online questionnaires, which will entail the following: 1. An online assessment, covering the following:

Accounting Fundamentals. Business Logic. Time Management. Creative Thinking.

2. Predictive Index questionnaire:

The PI results give the employer a better understanding of the characteristics of the employee, their strengths and

weaknesses and whether they will be well suited for the role.

You will be contacted to spend a day at our Sage Pastel offices where you will partake in a series of assessment processes followed by a panel interview. 3. Attend learnership workshop. 4. The Panel Interview will be conducted by the Sage Pastel subject matter experts.

Duration

This is a 3 month learnership including a placement as a Trainee Implementation Consultant for 3 months (based on performance) at one of our reputable Business Partners.

Estimated Value of the Learnership to Sage Pastel This is a 3 month learnership equaling to an estimated R 45 000.00 per intern for the three months training element. Sage Evolution pledges to invest in your education; to further your financial realm by applying your knowledge using the Sage Evolution Premium software as well as exposing you to the different possible career paths it can lead to.

Payment Structure

Each intern will be paid R 4 500.00 per month for the duration of the learnership and will be paid on a monthly basis.

The delivery methods include:

Facilitated workshops and training sessions.

Self study components.

In house Support Consultant.

Trainee Implementation Consultant stationed at a reputable Sage Pastel Business Partner.

Terms and Conditions

Sage Evolution herewith agrees to the outline of this learnership and will carry out their role and responsibilities in accordance. Sage Evolution guarantees the following: You will experience quality training delivery from expert trainers. You will receive the training material relevant to the courses at no additional cost. Sage Evolution does not guarantee: a job placement at Sage Pastel or any other affiliated institution after the intern has successfully completed

the said learnership. The following terms and conditions pertaining to the intern’s commitment to the learnership will be managed and controlled whereby: The intern will be held responsible for the full training cost in the event of:

o frequent non-attendance of the training courses scheduled or working hours, whether it be due to sickness, ill health or personal reasons not exceeding more than 4 days during the 3 months.

o enrolling for the learnership and failing the assessments as outlined in the assessment section of this document.

o The intern not disclosing the correct information upon enrolment. A salary will be paid to the intern, as set out in the Payment Structure section of this document, which will:

o be paid on a monthly basis. o be paid into the bank account details supplied by the intern on the enrolment form. Sage Evolution will

not take any responsibility for incorrect banking details supplied.

Business Partner Placement Process

The last step of this learnership is that you complete the remainder of the learnership at one of our reputable Business Partners that have signed up and committed to this learnership. Your placement at a said Business Partner is not guaranteed and will be based on the following criteria: Availability of staff capacity at a said Business Partner. Your commitment to the learnership is evident. Your assessment results. If you are elected to continue the learnership at one of our reputable Business Partners, your, the intern’s, performance as well as the Business Partner’s commitment will be monitored, evaluated and assessed on a continuous basis. Integrated assessments will be conducted from time to time during the 3 months at the Business Partner whereby your knowledge and skills will be reassessed. It is the Business Partner’s prerogative to extend your learnership by employing you on a contractual basis (based on a market related salary) after the completion of the learnership. There is a R 10 000.00 placement fee that is required to be paid by the Business Partner to Sage Pastel once an intern is permanently employed by the Business Partner.

Assessments

There is a range of different course assessments that form part of the learnership and have to be written within 24 hours

after you have completed a course. To make it easier for you, all the Sage Evolution theory assessments are now ONLINE.

This means that you can write the assessment in your own time and in the comfort of your own home (as long as you have a

computer with internet access). Sage Pastel will also have the facilities available for you to write your assessments in

business hours.

Assessments are offered only in English and in an online environment.

How to register for your ONLINE assessment?

1. Visit the www.pastel.co.za or www.sagepastel.com website. 2. Select the Login to Sage Pastel Zones tab. 3. Select the Training Zone option. 4. If you have already created an online profile, log in with your username and password.

5. If you do not have an online profile, click on the here link or the Create Personal Profile link to create your online profile. 6. Using the Serial Number that you received with your course material, select the Register Serial Number option. Enter

the Serial Number and select the Register button. 7. Select the Write My Assessment option. 8. On the next screen, select your registered assessment. 9. Select the Start Assessment button. 10. Select the assessment link that displays in the new screen. 11. Read the assessment instructions and select the Let’s begin button.

Certification Assessments

The certification assessments are practical assessments. It is compulsory to pass your theory assessment first in order to

complete and pass the practical assessments. Only after you have completed and passed both the theory and practical

assessments (where necessary) will you eligible to obtain your full certification.

Assessment Pass Mark

You have to achieve a minimum pass mark of 80% for your theory and practical assessments respectively.

Failure Process

When you have failed an assessment, you will be given a second attempt to pass the assessment. If you fail again, you will be discontinued from the learnership and be liable for the pro rata training cost outlined in the estimated value of the learnership section of this document.

Incentives

Performance bonus and incentive structures are in place for each phase of the learnership and will be announced during the launch. The incentives will be based on your commitment and average pass mark achieved during the course of the learnership. Performance bonuses will be based on your performance during the time you spend in a Support role and your achievements at the Business Partner.

This course will teach you to install, register, navigate and maintain your Sage Evolution Premium software. Maintaining your

software includes creating common databases, backups and master files.

After successfully creating your master files, we will explore the General Ledger, as well as customer, supplier and inventory

processing and reporting needs via the respective modules.

administration elements to monitor and maintain the Sage Evolution environment.

Learning Unit 5: Sage Evolution Premium Sales and Pre-Sales Consultant

There are two components to this learning unit:

1. The sales methodology e-learning component introduces you to the product features, benefits and value propositions.

This course includes documentation and templates to aid you to prepare and execute a sales process.

2. The pre-sales methodology facilitated workshop, which will introduce you to the recommended Sage Evolution Pre-

Sales Methodology coupled with the documentation, role players and outcome of pre-sales activities.

Learning Unit 6: Sage Evolution Premium Implementer

This course will introduce you to the recommended Sage Evolution Implementation Methodology coupled with the relevant

documentation and role players required during each phase of the implementation process. Case Studies will be discussed

and debriefed.

Learning Unit 3: Sage Evolution Expert

There are three elective add-on modules:

1. Branch Accounting:

This course covers the rules, regulations and technical requirements governing this elective module.

2. Retail Point of Sale:

This course will teach you how to set up, configure and administer the Sage Evolution Retail Point of Sale add-on

module.

3. Municipal Billing:

This course will teach you how to set up your different master files, setup and billing requirements for a municipal

environment.

Learning Unit 6: Sage Evolution Expert Implementer

This range of assessment sessions will certify you as an implementer for the elective modules.

The Sage Pastel Soft Skills Training:

These soft skill components will we built in during the Sage Evolution curriculum.
