Welcome from the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & TechnologyWe are excited to host the SAIC-GM and Shanghai Jiao Tony University delegation on your journey to learn about technology and business innovations in Silicon Valley.

This program has been designed based on the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship (BMOE) approach for teaching. In addition to teaching theory with lectures and cases, we will also be teaching about entrepreneurial mind-set and culture, and you will then apply what you learn to the SAIC-GM Big Data projects and when you meet new people in Silicon Valley.

The BMOE approach is built on a layered framework of:X Theory & CasesX Mindset & Entrepreneurial CultureX Mentoring & Networking

There are 3 days on the UC Berkeley campus where you will learn from top university faculty and researchers in the areas of big data, transportation, augmented reality/virtual reality, block chain and entrepreneurship. There will also be 2 days of going to on-site visits to top Silicon Valley companies, start-up organizations, and also a visit to Stanford University so you can about the latest innovations from industry and experience the Silicon Valley culture yourself. One highlight of the program will be the networking and dinner event on Tuesday, October 4th, where you will have a chance to network with entrepreneurs, auto industry players, and the Sutardja Center team.We hope the program will provide you with deep learnings about technology and business innovations which you can apply in your jobs, and that you build relationships for the future!

Best regards,

About the Sutardja CenterThe Pantas and Ting Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology is the premiere institution on the UC Berkeley campus for the study and practice of “technology-centric” entrepreneurship and innovation. Since 2005, SCET has created the foundation of Berkeley’s entrepreneurship ecosystem including SkyDeck, the Fung Institute, the Engineering Leadership Professional Program, Global Venture Lab, and an extensive

ecosystem of Silicon Valley and Global partners .

SCET is also known for developing the Berkeley Method, an internationally recognized approach to teaching technology entrepreneurship for undergraduates, innovation for Ph.D. students, and technology firm leadership for professionals and executives. As part of the Berkeley Innovation ecosystem, SCET also collaborates closely with the Jacob’s

Institute for Design, the Haas Business School, and CITRIS Foundry.

If you are interested in New Ventures or Innovation on the Berkeley campus or anywhere in the world, the Sutardja Center is the place to be. The Center is located within the College of Engineering of UC Berkeley and its academic home is the Department Industrial

Engineering & Operations Research.
