Remember St. Aloysius Church in your Will,
& have the following statement included:
"I leave to St. Aloysius Church/Parish,
Caldwell, New Jersey, the sum of $_________
or _________ percent of the residue of my estate,
whichever is greater, for its religious,
educational, and charitable works".
Stock may also be donated to the Church/Parish!
Dear Parishioner,
The celebration of Christmas, Holy Family, Mary’s
Solemnity on New Years, Epiphany and today’s feast of the
Baptism of our Lord, all were such beautiful acts of
worship because of so many parishioners. Thanks to
lectors, servers, special ministers of Communion, ushers,
church cleaners, church decorators, flower contributors, and
Pageant participants.
Special thanks to our choirs (adult, children,
Spanish and “Sunday at Seven”), our cantors and leaders of
song, our musicians including trumpet and flute as well as
organ and piano, and the unique Spanish instruments.
Thanks, Joe Wozniak.
A special thank you for your generous tithe to our
Lord in the Christmas collection. As of last Sunday it
amounted to $ 89,590.00. Our Lord is never outdone in
generosity. Expect great blessings. Thank you.
To Fr. JJ and Fr. Jose, Msgr. Kelly & Fr. Tom
Blind, to our wonderful parish staff, All the “behind the
scenes” people who are so important - Sincere thanks.
Thanks from all your priests for the cards & good
wishes, the “goodies” and the gifts.
The poet T.S. Eliot wrote: “The hint half guessed,
the gift half understood - the Incarnation”.
Amen.
Before Hallmark cards was even imagined, God
“cared enough to send the very best” as our Savior, our
Redeemer. This gift of the Father for our eternal sake is a
basis for our sharing gifts at Christmas.
You were so, so generous to the needy of our area
with the Giving Tree. Over 800 gifts were donated by you
and that helps us to understand what Christmas is all about.
Our church calendars were donated once again by
Galante Brothers of the Galante Funeral Home and by the
Ippolito Brothers of Ippolito - Dancy Funeral Home.
Timely Thanks!

Dear Parishioner,
Today we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord, which
marks the beginning of Jesus’ public ministry. Two
familiar phrases are included in today’s Gospel
passage from St. Luke. First, John the Baptist says, “I
am baptizing you with water, but one mightier than I
is coming. I am not worthy to loosen the thongs of
his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit
and fire.” And second, at the end of the passage, “a
voice from heaven” says to Jesus “You are my beloved
Son; with you I am well pleased.”
John’s statement reminds us that, in all we do, our
focus should be on God. His life’s work was all about
God; and ours should be too. Then, if we are
successful in our endeavors, we will hear God say to
each of us, “You are my beloved child; with you I am
well pleased.” So we strive to live each moment, each
day, each year in a way that is pleasing to God.
Today we also celebrate and thank Msgr. Desmond for
his priestly ministry here at St. Aloysius and wish him
well on his retirement. We thank him for being a fine
example of the Gospel messages we hear today. Best
wishes Msgr. Desmond!
Peace!

Protect Viable Babies
Postcard Campaign to
Launch in 2 weeks:
Many people don’t
realize that second and
third trimester abortions
are legal in New Jersey
and routinely being
carried out. The NJ
Conference of Catholic Bishops has approved a
postcard campaign designed to ask our NJ State
Senators and Assembly Members to support
legislation that would ban abortions after 20 - weeks
(5-months). The United States is one of only 7
countries in the world including China, North Korea
and Vietnam that allow elective abortion past 20 -
weeks. Our parish will be holding the postcard
campaign at all the Masses on the weekend of January
26 - 27 and we need volunteers to help us. Please call
Colette Liddy at 973-521-0509 if you are able to help
with the postcard campaign.
Campaña de postales
para Protéger a
Bebes Viables para
lanzar en 2 semanas:
Muchas personas no se
dan cuenta de que los
abortos en el segundo
y tercer trimestre son
legales en Nueva
Jersey y se realizan de
manera rutinaria.
