Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Jesus tells us another parable of
judgment. We are approaching Ad-vent season and therefore, the end
of the liturgical year is getting near. By giving us life, God has also pro-
vided us with the possibilities, small
or large, personal, ethical and reli-gious development. It does not mat-
ter if we have more or less, what matters is what we have received has
to yield some profit. Maybe the core of the parable is this: we must con-
ceive a God that motivates us to
come out of ourselves, who encour-ages us to the freedom of the King-
dom of God. The phrase «For to all those who
have, more will be given, and they
will have an abundance; but from those who are unproductive, even
what they have will be taken from them» (Mt 25:29), as a matter of
fact, is not an aphorism to encourage
consumption, but it can only be un-derstood at the level of love and gen-
erosity. Talking about generosity from God,
we renovated the Parrino Room which has been named after a pa-
rishioner named Connie Parrino who
was a very faithful and active here at St Anthony (before Assumption).
During this wonderful time, we give thanks to many people who contrib-
uted to set the room as full equipped
for the use of the parish for meet-ings, catechesis and many other ac-
tivities that will bring life to our com-munity. Please help us take care of
what God has given us and to pro-duce more for the good of others.
We invite you to sign up and bring a
cover dish to share at the Advent Dinner which is the first Sunday of
Advent December 3rd, 2017 at 2 pm at the Saint Joseph Hall.

SUNDAY : THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME NOVEMBER 19, 2017
Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas:
Jesús nos narra otra parábola del juicio. Nos acercamos a la fiesta del
Adviento y, por tanto, el final del año litúrgico está cerca.
Dios, dándonos la vida, nos ha entre-
gado también unas posibilidades -más pequeñas o más grandes- de
desarrollo personal, ético y religioso. No importa si uno tiene mucho o po-
co, lo importante es que se ha de
hacer rendir lo que hemos recibido. Quizá el núcleo de la parábola pueda
ser éste: hemos de tener la concep-ción de un Dios que nos empuja a
salir de nosotros mismos, que nos
anima a vivir la libertad por el Reino de Dios.
La frase «a todo el que tiene, se le dará y le sobrará; pero al que no tie-
ne, aun lo que tiene se le qui-tará» (Mt 25,29), no es, naturalmen-
te, una máxima para animar al con-
sumo, sino que sólo se puede enten-der a nivel de amor y de generosi-
dad. Hablando de la generosidad de Dios,
hemos renovado el Salón Parrino,
que lleva el nombre de una feligrés llamada Connie Parrino, que fue muy
fiel y activa aquí en San Antonio (antes Asunción). Durante este tiem-
po maravilloso, damos gracias por las muchas personas que contribuyeron
para renovar la sala y dejar la sala
totalmente equipada para el uso de la parroquia como reuniones, cate-
quesis y muchas otras cosas que darán vida a nuestra comunidad. Por
favor ayúdenos a cuidar lo que Dios
que nos ha dado y a producir más para el bien de los demás.
También te invitamos a inscribirte para la Cena de Adviento que es el
primer domingo de Adviento el 3 de
diciembre de 2017 a las 2:00 p.m. en el Salón de San José y traer un plati-
llo para compartir.
