CORPUS CHRISTI
JUNE 14, 2020
“Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.” (1 Corinthians 10:17) As disciples of Jesus, we are called to lead holy lives and invite others to join us. Living a stewardship lifestyle, being grateful and generous with our gifts, serves a twofold purpose. One, it helps build God’s kingdom here on earth. Two, it helps us strengthen each other’s relationship with God the Father, Je-sus, and the Holy Spirit. It becomes our road map to Heaven. Let’s help each other get there!

SUNDAY CORPUS CHRISTI CAR PROCESSION
THIS Sunday June 14th following the 10:15 Mass, there
will be a procession of cars with the BLESSED SACRAMENT through the streets of Douglas, passing by our homebound parishioners and ending at the Church.
To join the procession please meet in the parking lot of the church at 11:15 am and someone will be available to organize the procession.
The Feast of the Body and Blood of the Lord and the procession with the
Blessed Sacrament, celebrating the sacrament and signifying God’s
presence in our world and in our lives and reminding us of our common pil-
grimage to Heaven, is a prayerful and edifying act of the entire Church. De-
votions are generally not mentioned in the Code of Canon Law. However,
because of its importance in the life of the Church it is referred to in canon
944: “When it can be done in the judgment of the diocesan bishop, as a pub-
lic witness of the veneration toward the Most Holy Eucharist, a procession is
to be conducted through the public streets, especially on the solemnity
of the Body and Blood of Christ.”
CONGRATULATIONS!! to the following members of St. Denis
who will be welcomed into Full Communion this weekend. It is
such a blessing that we are able to celebrate these Sacraments with
these dedicated, enthusiastic and patient individuals who have been
working hard to become faithful members of our Church.
Please welcome:
David Earl Benson (Jude) Debra Jean Gannon (Elizabeth) Cindy Roberta Gerardi (Grace) Bethany Meghan King (Apollonia) Paul Joseph Desrosiers (Job) Lacey Ann O’Neil (Emily)
NEXT WEEKEND WE WILL REMEMBER ALL FATHERS, LIVING AND DECEASED. IF YOU WOULD LIKE
THE NAMES OF YOUR LOVED ONES REMEMBERED AT MASS, PLEASE CALL THE RECTORY AND
LEAVE THE NAMES. PLEASE DISTINGUISH WHETHER THEY ARE LIVING OR DECEASED.
2020 Partners in Charity Appeal
Once a year, we commit ourselves to this
ongoing work by supporting this life
giving appeal. We reflect on God’s great
generosity and respond with generous
giving of our own. With your support,
faith in action is visible every day in the
compassionate outreach of Catholic Char-
ities, to the least among us; in prayerful
witness of our retired priest and the joy of
new priestly vocations; to the many dioc-
esan ministries and programs that heal,
teach and care for others.
It is important for all of us to participate
in order to support our mission as a
diocese. Please be as generous as
possible. If you have already made a gift
to the 2020 appeal we thank you! Your
gift will help us in reaching our parish
goal.
Please make your gift online at:
