The ‘very important’ Parish meeting is this Sunday, JUNE 10; following the 10:30 Mass in Franklin. Diocesan personnel will be present to explain and answer questions regarding the
proposed changes to Confirmation and First Eu-charist Programs. This is a very important meeting for our parish! The changes will affect us all. We encourage everyone to attend this meeting. Light lunch will be provided prior to the meeting.
If you have not already done so you, you can still join the 300 Club. It is a steal at $60 a year. The proceeds help us meet our bills during the year. And you get to enjoy our annual dinner next April. See the results of the May drawing above!
Travel Group Meeting: This Sunday, June 10 beginning at 4PM in the Boutin Center. This is our last meeting before we
embark on our trip to Paris and Rome. The meeting will be followed by our Italian meal. This is a great time to get together with our fellow travelers and have input into some final decisions.. We will have information on the itinerary, hotels, flights and so much more!. Please plan to join us!
Cemetery News Please remember that Memorial Day Decora-tions will need to be removed by this Monday, June 11, if you wish to keep them.
300 Club Congratulations to our May winners:
$100.00 - Tom O’Donovan #008
$ 50.00 - Judy Manning #109
$ 25.00 - Theresa Lefebvre #070
Our thanks to all club members who help us pay our bills. May God repay your kindness!
We hate to talk money, BUT we’re not making it. We are $10,000 short at the end of the fiscal year 2017-2018. Please consider putting an additional dollar in your weekly envelope or add a dollar to your weekly donation (e-giving or cash in the bas-ket) in 2018-2019. It is often hard to look at our church as a business but we have to meet our monthly/yearly obligations just like everyone else. We work hard to be prudent in our spending but there are always those unexpected crises that effect our bottom line! Thank you for your consideration!

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
“Who told you you were naked?” And so, the blame game begins! “She told me!” says Adam. “The serpent told me” says Eve. And yet, the only thingl the three of them actually talked about was the fruit of the tree. The realization that they were naked kicked in when they acquired the knowledge of right and wrong. Thanks to Adam and Eve, we are hard wired with this same moral code: certain actions are always right, other are always wrong. A third category is de-pendent on motivation and consequences. Conflict and division arise when we deliberately try to put ac-tions into the wrong category or try to avoid responsi-bility for our moral choices. So, what is always right? Getting closer to God is always right. Cherishing the precious gift of life is always right. Respecting the rights of others is always right. Leaving things better than we found them is always right. Using our time, talent, energy and resources for the benefit of others
is always right. Speaking out against injustice is al-ways right! And what is always wrong? Contradicting what is always right. But I should not have to list these “values”: they are engraved deep in our hearts. In this week’s gospel, we see what happens when Jesus calls the scribes to task for messing with the moral code. (They had set up a network of excuses to ex-empt themselves from God’s moral law.) They don’t appreciate his criticism. They fight back, calling him Beelzebub as they try to discredit him. His family re-alizes that he’s headed for danger and try to rescue him. But he’s committed: he’ll do the right thing rather than play it safe. And we know how that ends. We are often faced with the same dilemma: to do what is right (written in our hearts) or what is popular or safe. A true follower of Jesus needs no one to tell him/her what to do: it’s all written in their heart.

Holy Trinity School is looking to find new mem-bers for their School Advisory Board. Since Holy Trinity is a regional school, they are looking for more diversity within the board and are hoping to
pick up new members from the Lakes Region Deanery par-ishes. If you would like to be nominated to the Advisory Board, please send a letter stating your interest, along with a resume to: Principal Mary Jane Cooney, 50 Church Street, Laconia, NH 03246 or email to: [email protected]. This might be a great way for a retired educator to give back to the church and the community!
NEW CHURCH ENVELOPES The new offertory envelopes for 2018-
2019 have arrived. Your will find your new set of envelopes in the back of either church beginning this weekend. We have made an effort to have your box of envelopes at the church you attend Mass. If you do not see your box of envelopes there, please let us know and we will have them for you the next weekend. Thank you for your contin-ued use of the envelopes. Have you considered E-Giving—check the web site for details.
Don’t forget to check out the ads on the back of the bulletin! These business ads help cover the cost of our hymnals and bul-letins! So frequent them when you can. We hear a lot of positive comments about
these businesses. For example, we hear Caleb’s hair-cuts are worth waiting for!
