I am very excited to be attending my first St. Gerald Guardian Angel Dinner and Auction! In the short time that I have been here, I have been so impressed with the willingness of our families to volunteer and to assist with whatever our parish and school needs. This dedication is what defines a successful parish community and is key to the future success of St. Gerald Catholic School. Our school provides an excellent education to nearly 400 students in an atmosphere that is accentuated with our Catholic values and is lit by the Light of Christ. You are the benefactors who help keep the light burning brightly. Christ shines through each and every one of you this evening. Our students come together at Mass to learn about what God has done for us and what we should do gratefully in return. From the youngest PreK to the oldest 8th grade student, from the parents and grandparents to the principal, teachers and staff, within our school you will find a family of faith and learning. Within this family, we deem the care and protection of each child an utmost priority. Tonight we come together to give thanks to God for all the wonderful gifts He has given to us. We gladly share these gifts tonight to support the life of our school, to educate our children. The Guardian Angel Dinner and Auction event provides necessary funds to help our school keep tuition costs down. The proceeds are folded into the school budget and planning for spending follows the master plan for sustainability and improvements. Thank you all for coming to this year’s event! I hope you have a wonderful time and we can raise a significant amount for our great school. A Message from our PrincipalDear St. Gerald School Families and Friends,

This has been an exciting year at St. Gerald School with the addition of the new PreK program. The presence of these young students in the building has added a new spark of energy and excitement! One highlight of the year so far was when a PreK student reported to her parents that “Jesus and God had visited their class that day”. It was the day that Father Mark and Archbishop Lucas blessed the new classroom! I am honored to be serving as principal of this excellent school. The school and staff are forever grateful to those who support our efforts, whether financially or with their time. This dedication to the success of St. Gerald Catholic School is key to its future. The willingness of people to give freely of their time and energy is what defines a successful school community. This event tonight is a testament to the commitment of the community and to the academic excellence that a Catholic education provides. Catholic education involves much more than edu-cating the mind – it requires educating the heart and soul as well. We are dedicated to graduating students who are truly Disciples of Christ. We continually strive to instill the gospel values in our students along with an attitude of service to others and gratitude for all the blessings we have received. CASH DONATIONS If you would like to make a cash donation, there will be two opportunities during the evening to do so at four different giving levels. The levels are as follows:

Bidders contributing at the first two donation levels (Guardian Angel and Angel of Love) will have their names inscribed on a plaque displayed at St. Gerald School.

For every $250 or $100 donation, the bidder will have their name displayed on a paw print at St. Gerald School for the 2017-2018 school year.

The Pride Paws and Donor Plaques are located in the hallway outside of Mrs. Buechler’s room.

During the silent auction, you can sign your bid number to any of the 4 giving levels at the designated table. During the Live Auction, bidding will begin at the $1,000 Guardian Angel Level and proceed until all levels have been completed. Bidders can accept a bid called by the auctioneer, at any level, by raising their bid cards.

General Auction RulesAUCTION RULES

1. Each bidder is assigned a bid number. Use only the bid number assigned to you. You are responsible for any bid made with your number.

2. All bids are final. No refunds or exchanges will be made.

3. Payment for all winning bids will be required at the close of the auction.

4. Registration for Quick Check-Out is available from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Check-In table. Any guests paying with credit card this year (Visa, MasterCard or Discover are accepted) will swipe their card when checking in and sign their slip. That’s all there is to it! No checking out. No waiting in line to sign your credit card slip. Just go to the Silent Auction area with your invoice and pick up your purchases.

Any items purchased during the evening will be charged to your card and shown on your invoice delivered to your table. If you do not make any purchases, no action will occur.

If you’ve not used your credit card before for pay-

ment, we encourage you to experience the speed and convenience of Quick Check-Out this year.

5. If you make a group purchase, please ensure

all parties are present when you see the cashiers.Please provide the names, amounts, and form of payment.6. Values printed for items being auctioned are good faith estimates of fair market value as required by IRS disclosure regulations. Any amount paid beyond the fair market value can be claimed as a charitable dona-tion. Please keep your invoice as your receipt. Consult with your accountant for more details.

7. St. Gerald Parish makes no express or implied warranties or representations of any kind or nature with respect to the property or services of the donated items. The buyer waives any claims for liability against St. Gerald or the donor of the property or services and neither St. Gerald nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the use of property or services sold.

Silent Auction Rules1. The Silent Auction will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will close at 7:50 p.m.

2. No bids will be accepted after the bidding closes.

3. Each auction item has a number assigned. Please refer to your program book to locate the item num-ber for any items in which you are interested. This unique number also appears on the bid sheet.

4. Each item has a bid sheet displayed near the auc-tion item. You will need to specify your bid number and the bid amount on the bid sheet. Please check the bid sheet carefully before placing your bid, mak-ing sure that the item on the bid sheet is the item you would like to bid on.

5. Each bid sheet has a preprinted opening bid. If you are opening up the bid, please enter your bid number. A minimum raise amount will also be speci-fied on the bid sheet. Each new bid must exceed the previous bid by at least the minimum increase stated on the bid sheet. Minimum bid increases must be met or bids will be disqualified.

6. An invoice will be provided after the close of the Silent Auction to all winning bidders. A designated runner will bring an invoice to all winning bidders. The invoice will contain all items purchased in the Silent Auction. Quick Check-Out customers may present their invoice at the pick-up area.

Accounting office will be closed after the silent auction area closes to process bids.No early payments before the close of the Live Auction please.

Live Auction Rules1. The Live Auction will begin following dinner and continue until all items have been sold.

2. Each auction item is numbered. The auctioneer will call out the numbered item and give a brief description. Bidders can accept a bid called by the auctioneer by raising their bid cards.

3. After the final bid, a runner will bring a contract

to the successful bidder, who will provide name, bid number and signature verifying the successful bid.

4. After the conclusion of the Live Auction, all winners will be provided a separate invoice for Live Auction purchases. A designated runner will bring an invoice to the successful bidders. Quick Check-Out customers may present their invoice at the pick-up area.
