The Sanctuary Candle that will be lit this week during our Eucharistic Celebration is in loving memory of Dorothea Collura. This is a gift from Ed, Lois & Carl Sciegel.

The Altar Flowers that will be offered at our Eucharistic Celebrations for this week are in celebration of the 50th Wedding Anniversary of Roger & Sandy Bohinski. This is a gift from their family.

What is the Holy Trinity? In the Creed we profess our belief in one God. In the first reading from Exodus, God descends to Moses and proclaims his name “LORD”. The name he actually proclaimed, “YHWH” is considered so holy that it cannot be said. We really don’t know how it was pronounced, either Yahweh or Jehovah as there were no vowels, although we leave out the “i” and the “u”. The mystery of God is so great that even his Holy Name is a mystery. In the Old Testament the Trinity is implied although never asserted. In the New testament the word “Trinity” does not appear, but the Holy Trinity is there nonetheless. “God so loved the world that he sent his Son into the world…” (Jn3:16). “When the Advocate comes whom I will send* you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me.” (Jn15:26) The belief in the Trinity was originally stated in the baptismal confessions of the early church and finally spelled out in the Nicene Creed which we say at Mass. Which leads me to another point. The name of God is so holy that one of the The Commandments, the Second Commandment, is devoted to keeping the name of God holy. “Thou shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.” That means that perjury is a grave sin as well as using the name of God when it should not be used. How many people say the name of “Jesus” is ways that are not proper. It should be used in prayer not in anger, not in surprise, not in frustration, not in flippant ways. There used to be in many parishes a men’s group called the Holy Name Society. They would encourage and promote the proper devotion to the name of Jesus. It seems to me that it is needed more than ever. If you must say the name of Jesus I recommend you do it this way: “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.”

Y llegamos a otro tema.

Adult Formation Summer Program

Queen of Heaven Mary’s Battle For You

Please join Fr. Michael on Thursday, June 15th at 1:30 pm in the Parish Hall. This week’s lesson is: The Battle Begins: The Woman & the Serpent.

Summer Envelopes

We sincerely thank our parishioners who mail or deliver their weekly envelopes to the parish office while they are out-of-town on vacations this summer. As many of you understand, our parish expenses and obligations do not take a vacation when you do, so it is very helpful to be able to rely on the continued support even when you cannot personally attend Mass here. May God bless you and your families. Have a safe and blessed summer.

The American Legion Auxiliary Star Unit #127 in Jamesburg would like to thank all those who donated to our Veteran and Military Program Fund during Masses last weekend. Monies go to various funds to help those who have served and currently serve our country. Your support is greatly appreciated!
