STEWARDSHIP CORNER Lent is a time to reflect on our relationship with God.

We are called to focus on prayer, fasting, and almsgiving in our Lenten stewardship.

Life Question: What is testing your spirit this Lent? Gospel Question: What is Jesus asking when he says to repent and believe in the Good News?

Holy Father’s Prayer Intention of the Month

Say “No” To Corruption: That those who have mate-rial, political, or spiritual power may resist any lure of corruption.

Group A meets this Wednesday at 6:30 PM.

The final class for First Reconciliation will be held this Tuesday, February 20, from 6:30-7:30 PM. First Reconciliation will be held next Saturday, February 24, at 10:00 AM. All candidates should arrive by no later than 9:30 and be ready in the church by 10:00. During Lent, Christians remember and share the time Jesus spent in the desert, when he fasted and prayed to prepare for his journey to Easter.

As you can see from the thermom-eter in the Narthex, while we are close, we still have not quite reached our goal. Please help us close the gap by contributing to this fund. WEEKLY KNIGHT

Pancake Breakfast

Please join us this weekend for our pancake breakfast after the 10:00 and 12:00 Masses. We will have our usual com-plement of breakfast goodness – and, as always, an oppor-tunity for fellowship with other members of our community. We hope you will come and join us! There will be no pan-cake breakfast in March, so this is your last chance until April.

Busy March

March promises to be a busy month for our Brother Knights. On March 2, we will be leading that week’s Stations of the Cross and providing the soup and bread. Over the weekend of March 3-4, we are proud to welcome our State Chaplain Father William Lesak, who will be leading a Day of Reflec-tion on Saturday and presiding at the weekend Masses. On March 13, we will be holding an Admission Degree for all those who wish to join our council (please join us!). Lastly, on March 17, we will be holding a Hot Dog Supper follo-wing the 5:00 Mass. We hope to see everyone frequently during March.

What is Evangelization and Ecumenism?

Think about this. What if your life is the only Bible someone

observing you ever reads? As Catholic Christians, we are

called to be examples in our faith and to share our faith.

If you are interested in learning more about how you can be

part of the outreaching welcoming face of Saint Joan of Arc

Church, contact Commission Chair: Katie Kalarovich at:

667-4855 or [email protected].

There will be an organizational meeting of the

Evangelization & Ecumenism Commission on

Wednesday, Feb 28th at 1:30pm, in the Fellowship

Hall . Anyone interested is welcome.

PEOPLE OF THE COVENANT If there is one word that stands out in today’s readings, it is “covenant.” God’s faithfulness and goodness serve as examples to us of how to live. Genesis tells the story of Noah and of God’s covenant not only with all people, but with all of nature. Never will the cleansing waters of the flood bring their destructive power to all the earth again. The sign, the reminder to both God and nature, is the rain-bow in the heavens. The psalm reminds us of this compassion of God, and begs God to remember us, not because of our goodness, but because of God’s goodness and fidelity to the promise. God shows us how to be good, not by decree, but by ex-ample. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
