DIVINE MERCY SAID: "Write, speak of My mercy. Tell souls where they are to look for solace; that is, in the Tribunal of Mercy [Sacrament of Reconciliation]. There the greatest miracles take place [and] are incessantly repeated. To avail oneself of this miracle, it is not necessary to go on a great pilgrimage or to carry out some external ceremony; it suffices to come with faith to the feet of My repre-sentative and to reveal to him one's misery, and the miracle of Divine Mercy will be fully demonstrated. Were a soul like a decaying corpse so that from a human standpoint, there would be no [hope of] restoration and eve-rything would already be lost, it is not so with God. The miracle of Divine Mercy restores that soul in full. Oh, how miserable are those who do not take advantage of the mira-cle of God's mercy! You will call out in vain, but it will be too late." (St. Faustina Diary, 1448) Used with permission of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the BVM Scriptural Reflections Each Thursday in Padre Pio Hall, all parishioners are welcome to join in an hour of reflection on the Scriptures from 10:00 to 11:00AM. As we focus on the Gospel of John, the approach is to imitate the Virgin Mary, "and she kept all these things and pondered them in her heart," Luke 2:19. For questions or additional information please contact Deacon Rafael Goldsmith at [email protected].

Thank you for your prayers! Any name added to the Prayer List will remain there for 3 months. The request may be renewed by calling the parish

PRAYER LIST

For all our Active Military Members and Veterans

Prayer to Our Lady of Good Health O Lady of Good Health, our Merciful Father chose you to be a

powerful intercessor in times of trouble and woe. Teach us not to be afraid, to be courageous and offering assistance to

others, and to live joyfully in the state of grace. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us now and at the hour of

our death. Amen.

Vocations “He humbled Himself and became obedient….” If the Lord invites you to follow Him in humble obedience as a priest or in the consecrated life, how will you respond? Call Father Michael Isenberg (703) 841-2514, or write: [email protected]. Notes on Seating at St. John the Baptist Church In Light of Covid Precautions For every Mass, please - enter down the center aisle, - go to the available pew furthest to the front and - take a seat furthest to the outside aisles of the church, leaving 6 feet for social distancing. The reason is facility: mid-pew or center aisle edge-pew empty spots are easier for ushers to see from the back of the church. By seating yourself along the center aisle pew when there is still room to move outward, you prevent others from being seated. Please observe the CDC recom-mendation of 6 feet distance between individuals and/or family/friend groups. The kneeler length can be used as your guide in distancing. When there is more than 6 feet between you and your neighbor, you reduce the number of available seats. Please make sure the front most pews get filled first. We never know how many people will show up for Mass and we want to accommodate as many people as possible. We must, in charity, assume that eve-ry seat will be needed, which happens often here at St. John’s. So remain attentive to the protocols! Thank you. Chelsea Academy’s Welcome Wednesday Open House - Every Wednesday in October Chelsea Academy, the only Catholic High School west of Manassas, invites you to Welcome Wednesdays, a chance to learn more about a liberal arts education in the Catholic tradition. Come hear about a school based on faith, friendship, academics, and adventure. In addition, our students’ SAT scores are consistently some of the best in the state! Chelsea Acade-my prepares students for college and for life! Please join us each Wednesday in October from 9 -10:30 at 4 Fami-ly Life Lane, Front Royal.
