DIOCESAN HOLY HOUR – Bishop Medley, as part ofDiocesan efforts for the New Evangelization, hasdeclared a “Year of Encountering Jesus ThroughPrayer,” beginning with a Holy Hour in every Parishin the Diocese The First Sunday of Advent, 3December 2017, at 2 PM. On behalf of Bishop Medley,I encourage you to join us as part of the Diocesan call toprayer.

HOLY DAY & HOLIDAY PLANNING – Holy Day Immaculate Conception 8 Dec, 8 AM; 6 PMParish Advent Penance Service – 18 December 6 PMHoly Day Christmas Eve Mass – 24 December 4 PMHoly Day Christmas Day Mass – 25 December 9 AM

CHRISTMAS DAY LITURGICAL MINISTERS – There is asign-up at the side for volunteers for every ministry.

CHRISTMAS MEMORIALS – Because Bishop Medley nowrequires us to send 15.25% of money donated forflowers, this year I request that no money be given inthe church flower envelopes. However, I do encourageyou to submit names of loved ones for memorials to belisted in the Christmas bulletin. Please submit theseenvelopes or a written list in the regular collection bySunday, 17 December, so that I can include them. Also, because the Bishop requires us to send 15.25% ofthe Priest/Deacon Christmas Gift collection (because itis an organized collection taken up by the ParishCouncil in the past, and I thank them and you for yourkindness to us with past gifts), I have asked the ParishCouncil Members not to take up this collection at thedoor this year. Please pray for the Deacon and meinstead of giving to an organized collection. TheDeacon and I can receive personal/individual gifts,monetary or otherwise, without having to send aportion to the Diocese (how embarrassing to have towrite that).

USHERS/GREETERS – I will offer training after theMasses on 25-26 November. If you are unable to attendthe meeting after Mass, and you want to serve in thisministry, you must contact Christie at the office thisweek; everyone must receive training before serving. Thanks for your good stewardship.

EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION TO

HOSPITALS, NURSING HOME AND HOMEBOUND – I willoffer training and delegation after the Masses on 2-3December. If you are unable to attend the meeting afterMass, and you want to serve in this ministry, you mustcontact Christie at the office this week; everyone mustreceive training before serving. Thanks for your goodstewardship and caring for the sick and homebound.

PARISH ADULT (18+) BASKETBALL– It came to myattention at the Parish Council Meeting that there is atleast some interest among adult Parishioners to playbasketball in the gym. The gym is seldom used onSunday and Monday evenings. We will have a sign upafter Masses for the next two weekends to see whatkind of interest there is from Parishioners. Initially, thiswill be open to Parishioners only.

PARISH WOMENS’ RETREAT DAY– 10 FEBRUARY 2018 –coordinated by Joyce Carrico, featuring His Own MusicMinistry from Nashville. Mark your calendars now;more info will be provided soon.
