Catholics Returning Home If you, or a friend or family member is/are thinking about returning to the faith, be assured that a warm welcome awaits! Sessions begin Tuesday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Room 208. For more information, call Eleanor Lashley at 770.338.4376.

Visiting Clergy: Pursuant to archdiocesan policies, Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory is happy to grant faculties to visiting Priests and Deacons wishing to participate in ad-ministering the Sacraments while here, including con-celebrating a Mass. If you have a family member who is a priest or deacon coming from another diocese please no-tify Alma Martinez in the parish office, and contact Tarcy Hernandez, Coordinator of Safe Environment, by email at [email protected] well in advance of their visit so that we can work with them to ensure that Faculties are granted based on the length of their stay.

How easily, O Christ, do I long for a firsthand touch from you, my friend and savior, risen and glorious, victorious over death, radiant with luminous life. O, how easily does my yearning arise to have been one of those in the upper room when you returned in resurrected form. I know that my faith would be strong if, like Mary in the garden, I had reached out to hug your living presence on Easter morning. I do not doubt the quality of my zeal had I broken bread with you at the sunset inn on the Emmaus road. It’s not easy to be among the living faithful fed by second-hand accounts of your resurrection visits, even though they have been passed on with loving care for millennia mouth-to-mouth. But I take hope today, in this Easter season, that I too can taste and feel In your fulfilled promise: “I am with you always, even to the end.” Every time I break bread with friends or strangers or encounter kindness on my daily byroads, when I am visited by you even though my inner doors are locked in fear, let my heart be as open as the horizon for the feast of an Easter visit from you, my Risen Savior.

-Edward Hays

When You Celebrate a milestone anniversary, please let your parish celebrate with you! 25th, 50th and 60th anniversaries receive a blessing at Sunday Mass; 30th and 40th anniver-saries are blessed at daily Mass.

The disciples on the road to Emmaus walked and talked with Jesus all day long, but it was not until they offered him hospitality and he blessed and broke the bread that they recognized him. Simple acts of loving kindness still reveal the presence of God in our midst.

Gifts of Insurance: Insurance is a great way to give a larger gift to the parish endowment fund or building fund than you would normally be able to give through cash. You can do this by designating the parish endowment fund as the beneficiary of your insurance. For additional information regarding gifts of insurance, please contact Juliet Greco at The Catholic Founda-tion of North Georgia [email protected] or 404.497.9440.

Adult Faith Formation Youth Ministry

Faith Formation Enrollment 2017-18 The Goal of Faith Formation is communion and intimacy with Christ. Give your child the gift of a personal relationship with Jesus by partnering with our Faith Formation programs. Enrollment for the 2017-18 Faith Formation program year began April 1, and continues through Friday, June 30. The earlier you complete the enrollment process the better chance to receive your preferred PSR class day/time choice. En-roll now and take advantage of the payment plan option. Questions please contact Vickie LaClair at [email protected].

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults: If someone you know expresses a ‘burning’ desire to become Catholic or feels called to encounter the real pres-ence of Christ in Holy Communion con-sider inquiring about the RCIA process by contacting Diane Maguire.

Adult Confirmation Are you an adult over 18 who was baptized Catholic but did not celebrate Confirmation? We are offering a special intensive summer ses-sion as an alternative to the year long RCIA process—Monday nights at 7:00 p.m. beginning May 8. Contact Diane Maguire for more details.

Live Today Well No one wakes up in the morning and says "I hope I have a bad day." You can't control what hap-pens to you but you can control how you think and act in response to daily life experiences. Scripture and spiritu-al wisdom counsel attitudes and prac-tices that when applied to daily life situations will engender a more peace-ful and joy-filled life experience even on the worst of days. These will be the focus of our discussion on Wednesday, May 3 and 10 at 7:00 p.m.

Who Am I To Judge Using engaging stories and personal experience, Ed-ward Sri helps us understand the clas-sical view of morality and equips us to engage relativism, appealing to both the head and the heart. Learn how Catholic morality is all about love, why making a judgment is not judging a person's soul, and why, in the words of Pope Francis, "relativism wounds people." This insightful DVD series will be offer on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. starting May 4 in the Divine Mer-cy Room.

Dead Sea Scrolls A huge body of ancient Jewish documents, comprise the great-est manuscript discovery of the 20th Century. Join presenter Earl Beck in ex-ploring the Dead Sea Scrolls on Monday May 8 at 10:00 a.m. in the Divine Mercy Room.

Confirmation 2017– Our Second Year Confirmation students will have their final De-cision Point meeting tonight at 6:00 p.m. Other important dates to know: Rehearsal for Confirmation— Saturday May 20 at 10:00 a.m. in the Church for stu-dents and sponsors (arrive by 9:45) Bi-lingual Confirmation Masses— Sunday May 21 at 12:00 p.m. at 3:00 p.m. (Receptions will follow each Mass in Cogswell Hall) Confirmation 2018 Mark your calendars! Students to be Confirmed in the Spring of 2018 will have an important parent and student meeting on Sunday, May 7 at 6:00 p.m. in Cogswell Hall. Changes Coming in Fall 2017 to better serve our high school youth. Be sure to enroll by June 30 so that you don’t miss out! http://www.saintlaw.org/enrollment-form-2017-18/ Graduating High School Seniors You and your family are invited to join us for the Senior Mass and Dinner on Sunday, May 14 at 5:00 p.m. Please RSVP to Michele by Sunday, May 7 [email protected].

Vacation Bible School Vacation Bible School will be held June 12 – 16, 2017 from 9:30 to 12:30 each day. Preschool and Elemen-tary aged children will discover that they are lovingly created by God through stories, games, music and snacks at our own Maker Fun Factory. You may enroll your children (PK3 through rising 6th grade) or sign up to volunteer (middle school and older) today under the Faith Formation tab on our Parish Website at:

ST.

-Edward Hays
