Parish Mission Statement
As a community of faith, we the people of Saint Lawrence Parish are involved in an ongoing process of conversion.
We strive to seek out and attend to the spiritual and physical needs of our membership and our neighbors in need
according to the charisms and standards of Jesus Christ our Savior. We seek to develop responsible attitudes
towards stewardship, appreciating what God has given us to benefit others and ourselves. We see our stewardship
as integral in the improvement of our spiritual well being by personal prayer, sacramental celebration and
communal worship. We commit ourselves to establish a mutual covenant to recognize the dignity, the blessing of
talent and common responsibility of all our members, our visitors and neighbors of various denominations, serving
the diversity of need to all who worship or join our community of faith.
SAINT LAWRENCE PARISH, GOFFSTOWN, NH
Perpetual Adoration Jesus is truly present with us today. He comes quietly and humbly. Only the humble can see, with the eyes of faith, the humble Jesus hidden in the Blessed Sacrament. This is the faith that prompts you to come and adore Him. If He was visible and we could see Him with our senses, everyone would run to the Chapel, night and day, to be with Him. But He remains hidden in the Blessed Sacrament because he is calling us to faith, that we come to Him in humility. “Blessed are they who do not see and yet believe”
Adoration -Friday in the Chapel 3 - 6 pm

(including Confirmation Registration for
Grades 9 and 10)
Registration packets are located under the Faith
Formation Bulletin Board (left entry of church, near
upstairs restrooms) and online at
www.stlawrencegoffstown.org. The packets include
faith formation information for grades 1-8 as well as
Confirmation prep information for grades 9-10 (same
packet and same registration form used for all grades
this year).
SPECIAL ATTENTION to Parents of Incoming First
Grade Students:
It is suggested that you enroll your child in a faith
formation program for this fall as children are expected
to be in their second year of religious education prior to
beginning preparation for the sacraments, so it is
encouraged to enroll children beginning in the first
grade.
Children’s Liturgy Summer Break:
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is on break for the
summer and will resume in the fall. Thank you so
much to our wonderful Children’s Liturgy
volunteers who help to bring the Gospel to life for
our children every week.
Please contact Maggie Tipping if you have any
questions or would like to volunteer for this
ministry in the fall.
Baptism Wishes !

I’m inviting you to consider blessing our parish family. When our loved ones journey home to the Lord, would you please consider requesting donations to the “Saint Lawrence Doors/Windows Fund” as well as “Handicapped Bathroom & Lift Fund” in lieu of flowers. Additionally, donations from anyone at anytime are greatly appreciated to help address our needs; funds earmarked for ‘any purpose’ allow us greater flexibility with our planning needs for Growth and Development.
Blessings and Thank You! *Father Gerry*

Keep Kids Safe– Technology tips: Instagram
Instagram is a popular photo sharing app; it is the number
one social media platform used by teens. Here are some
tips for parents whose children want to use Instagram:
• Instagram states that users should be at least 13 years
old.
• Private accounts are safer because the user has to
approve follower requests.
• Advise children not to share photos of friends without
their permission.
• Remind children to only post appropriate photos and
comments.
• Be aware the in-app private messaging can occur.
• Consider obtaining your own account to understand
how Instagram works.

Steps in the Rite of Reconciliation 1 The priest will welcome you and invite you to make the
Sign of the Cross. It will be helpful for the priest to know
a little about you if he doesn’t already, and the time of
your last confession. You may choose to begin with the
traditional opening, “Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.
It has been (...weeks, months, years) since my last
confession.” Relax..be at ease. The priest is there to help
you experience God’s mercy.
2 Confess your sins in your own words to the priest. An
appropriate way to conclude is by saying, “I am sorry for
these and all the sins of my past life.” The priest will help
you from there.
3 After you have confessed your sins to the priest, he will
give you encouragement for your moral and spiritual
growth. The priest then gives you a Penance which may
include a brief prayer and ask you to make an Act of
Contrition; the priest then absolves you from your sins.
After this you may leave the confessional.
4 Complete the Penance the priest gives you and thank
God for His mercy. Promise yourself and God that you
will try to avoid these sins in the future. Talk to God and
ask for His help especially in avoiding temptation--those
near occasions of sin.
