SALVADOS POR EL AMOR DE DIOS ¿No estoy yo aquí? ¿No soy tu Madre?
¿No estás bajo mi sombra?

PARISH COUNCIL UPCOMING ELECTIONS
During the weekend masses of February 23 and 24 there were announcements regarding the upcoming parish council elections for 3 seats on the executive council/committee. These positions on the council would serve a three-year term. The positions are Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary.
Blank nomination bio forms have been available in Church after Mass and in the Parish Office. Please consider serving your Parish on this important council and fill out a bio form and either drop it in the collection basket or turn it into the business office.
It is an honor and very gratifying to serve. It is your opportunity to represent the congregation in important decision making policies for St. Andrew. If you have any questions regarding the council please speak to any Parish Council member or Fr. Al.
Please consider this a personal invitation “to serve” God and his flock.

What is the reason for the veiling of crosses and images on the Fifth Sunday of Lent?
The veiling of crosses and images is a sort of “fasting” from sacred depictions which represent the paschal glory of our salvation. Just as the Lenten fast concludes with the Paschal feast, so too, our fasting from the cross culminates in an adoration of the holy wood on which the sacrifice of Calvary was offered for our sins. Likewise, a fasting from the glorious images of the mysteries of faith and the saints in glory, culminates on the Easter night with a renewed appreciation of the glorious victory won by Christ, risen from the tomb to win for us eternal life. (USCCB 2006)
Praise be Jesus Christ! Now and for ever!
