  • Stewardship: A Way of Life

Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

“...whatever you did for one of the least of my brothers, you

    did for me.”

    Matthew 25:40

Most of us are generous when it’s convenient for us. We are generous when we have the time or the money. But, generosity is the opposite of that. It means giving of one’s time, money, compassion, forgiveness or mercy when it’s not convenient; when it’s not on our schedule, but on the other person’s schedule.

WORD OF LIFE: “The right to religious freedom has its foundation in the very dignity of the human person.”

  • GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD: Thanksgiving is this week. What are you thankful for? We should thank God for our spouse, family, friends, and jobs. These are good things but beyond that, we should thank God for his unconditional love and gift of salvation through Jesus. Be grateful to start a new day with a chance to do better, be the reason someone else is thankful. Throughout your day, you can pray, consciously look for the beauty God has created, express gratitude for other people and thank God ahead of time for his blessings even before you receive them. Maybe start a habit of writing down or

thinking of five blessings you are grateful for each day. Hopefully, by taking

the time to be grateful, we will feel better about ourselves and perhaps help others feel better too.

Let us take a moment to consider the blessing of belonging to a parish, with its

staff, volunteers, councils, committees, groups, and all parishioners. Thanks to all of you! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

This year due to the pandemic, the Food Pantry has decided it best to give $50 gift cards from Piggly Wiggly.

They are also refraining from toys and presents for the children and instead

are giving $25 gift cards to Target for each child signed up. The Knights are helping by asking you to

purchase one of these gift cards or simply donate cash or check payable to Milton Knights of Columbus and we will purchase the gift cards. The Supreme Council of the KCs will reimburse the Milton Council with $100 for every $500 we donate - then in turn, that $100 will be donated to the Milton Food Pantry. A donation container will be located in the Gathering Space at church to place your gift cards or money. Or you can mail to Grand Knight Roger D. Schrader, 5736 E Eagle Dr, Milton, WI 53563. Your donations are greatly appreciated!

  • ROCK HAVEN NURSING HOME CHRISTMAS GIFTS: St. Mary, Milton’s Interfaith Community Outreach Committee will once again provide a Christmas gift to each of the residents at Rock Haven Nursing Home. Many of these residents have had no contact with family or visitors since March, making them feel captive in their surroundings. By providing a small gift, we want to give hope and show our love and support to these elderly members of our community. We are asking for money donations - any amount is encouraged! Then members of our Outreach Committee will purchase a gift or two for each of the residents (currently 92 people reside at Rock Haven, but there could be as many as 128). Won’t you help us provide a smile to these lovely people? Please make checks payable to St. Mary Parish. Your donation will be added to your annual contribution statement. Questions? Call Vicki at 608-449-6530.

Drop your Coats for Hope donations into the box

  • BIBLE STUDY BEGINS AT ST. JOSEPH: Do We Realize How Richly We’ve Been Blessed? Embark on a guided tour of the “Holy of Holies” of biblical theology. The book of Hebrews is like a little Catechism. It is steeped in rich truths that are foundational to our Catholic Faith, but its highly refined theological concepts can be difficult for even the most seasoned Bible scholars to unpack.

Presented by Andrew Swafford and Jeff Cavins, Hebrews: The New and Eternal Covenant draws out the riches of this sublime book in a way that makes them easier to understand. It draws connections between the Old and New Testaments, the Liturgy, the Eucharist, the priesthood, and so much more. Most importantly, Hebrews will help Catholics appreciate the astounding generosity of God as they see the wonders he has given us in the Church.

Join us for this 8-week study on Monday evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m., beginning November 30. We will meet in the parish hall and participants will sit at their own table (unless from the same household). Cost of the study is $27.00 for materials. You will need to bring your own bible. Please contact Becky Eastman at 608- 290-2827 or [email protected] if you wish to join.

Or study on your own from home. To purchase the on-line option, go to: https://ascensionpress.com/collections/hebrews-the-new-and-eternal-covenant-study-2 A LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE FOR TEENS You: Life, Love, and the Theology of the Body is a unique program which reveals to teens their value as a person: their bodies, their sexuality, and their individual call to love. Filmed on location all over the world, the program features teens as well as respected Catholic leaders. It addresses, head on, many of the issues teens are already exposed to via entertainment media, societal pressures, and their own interactions with each other. This program will give teens the answers and the tools they need to successfully and safely navigate through life. There is still time to register!
