THIS IS OUR FAITH The SACRED that surrounds us

Sanctuary

Latin (meaning (“holy”), the sanctuary is an area clearly distinguished form the rest of the church. It is elevated and has the altar at its center. The tabernacle, ambo and presider’s chair are located there as well. The

sanctuary is where the priest presides during Mass. The roots of the sanctuary are rooted in the Old Testament. It is where you will find Our Lord truly present. When the Mass starts, the priest enters the sanctuary and kisses the altar signifying that this is where

Jesus will become present during Mass. When the priest kisses the altar at the end, our focus turns once again to Jesus present in the tabernacle. Do you see Jesus when you come to church? Do you hear him speaking

to you at Mass? Are you letting Him walk with you? How about in the breaking of the bread? Do you see Him then?

He is there, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.

STEWARDSHIP Stewardship Heart “For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.” LUKE 12:34 Jesus encourages us to build up our treasure in heaven. The world encourages us to build up our treasure in real estate, investments, and material goods. How much time are you investing in building up a worldly treasure? How much time are you investing in building up a heavenly treasure? To invest more time in the things of heaven, you must live Stewardship by letting go of some of the things of this world. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Patience is power. Patience is not an absence of action;

Rather it is “timing” it waits on the right time to act, for the right principles and in the right way.”

HELP NEEDED

Registrations for Fall CCD (Faith Formation) are now past due.

or you may email [email protected] or [email protected].

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WE NEED YOUR FAITH, WE NEED YOUR HELP
Catechetical Sunday is September 15, 2019. This is the day that the whole Church in the US celebrates the ministry & gift of Catechesis. The theme this year is “Stay With Us.” Throughout the years we have noticed that young adults have lost their affiliation to the faith. This has happened
for several reasons, one of which is that young people reach their adulthood without having had a genuine encounter with God & their faith. The ministry of Catechesis is more than just a training in doctrine, it is a
time for our children to experience their faith & have a meaningful encounter with God. This year we are focusing our formation programs on
providing moments of encounter. This requires the help & dedication of our parish members. Encounters happen when we share our own faith experience & love for God. Please consider sharing your time with our
yound people. We need catechists for Monday nights from 6pm -7:30pm at Bishop Schad School, Tuesday nights from 5pm-6:30pm at St. Mary
School, Sunday mornings from 10:15am-12pm at Divine Mercy Parish & 12 Thursday a month at Sacred Heart School We are also in need of
classroom aides & hall monitors. You may email [email protected] or [email protected] for
information. You can also call your rectory & they can put you in touch with a catechetical leader. Thank you in advance for your consideration &
your support.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please Pray for Our Recently Deceased.

They have gone no further from us than to God, and God is very near.
